Louisiana updates us on what's been going on in her life via her online journal. She writes about Susie Jackson-Callaway's medical crisis, her family's Fourth of July celebration, the growing feud between Johnny and Susie Jackson-Callaway, Ronee's upcoming audition in Las Vegas, Nevada, and other matters.

Dear Journal~
Sorry for not writing in here; the past week has been a nightmare that I'm glad is finally ending. On July 3rd, Audrey Callaway's oldest daughter, Susie, started having episodes of prolonged seizures. She ended up having to be rushed to the hospital via ambulance. It ended up she needed brain suregery due to a stroke (clot removal). She is doing much better, but still faces a lengthy recovery ahead of her. It was very scary to see Susie in such dire circumstances; I'm still shaking as I think about this.
It is only by a miracle that Susie survived. She is eating, talking again, even trying to walk a little; but as I just said, she has a long road to travel before all of this is behind her.
All of this makes me think back to the times when Johnny and Ronee' had their strokes (Johnny had his stroke when he was only 1 1/2; Ronee, at age eight, on her birthday). While both times were incredibly bad, both Johnny and Ronee' overcame the worst of their symptoms/problems, thanks to swift medical intervention, incredible familial support (plus support from friends), and lots of physical, speech, and occupational therapies. Now it is as though both children never even HAD a stroke because they look (and act) so..NORMAL. I just hope I NEVER have to go through something like this again with them (or any of my other children); once was MORE t han enough!
Well, another Fourth of July has come and gone. We went to our city's annual "Fourth of July BLAST!" festival and parade; we saw fireworks, heard some wonderful musical entertainment, participated in different contests, and ate like pigs; yet our Fourth of July was marred by Susie's latest medical crisis. It would have been a lot more enjoyable for us hadn't Susie not gotten so sick.
The weather here has ben hot with afternoon thundershowers to cool us off. The Fourth of July remained dry, much to everyone's relief; it would have been a pity had the fireworks been rained out. We may get some more storms by the start of next week, thanks to a strong cold front expected to come through the Tennessee Valley.
Next week Ronee' goes to Las Vegas, Nevada, for her callback for "America's Got Talent". She has been practicing hard, and she sounds really good. She has a chance to make it to the show's semi-finals (and hopefully the finals). She is going to sing "A Moment Like This", originally made famous by Kelly Clarkson, the first winner for "American Idol". Ronee' always does a great job singing that song.
Speaking of "AGT", we watched it last night on NBC, and some of the acts we were pulling for make it through the first round of callbacks. From 70 possible acts, it has been whittled down to 35. From these 35 acts, 15 more will be cut down to the top 20 contestants. There's this dance team of guys ("Crazylegs") featuring a man who break dances on Lofstrand crutches; you have to see this guy in action to believe it. He's absolutely INCREDIBLE! (The man was born with very little muscles in his legs; this is why he walks on crutches.) They made it through.
So did this family act from Branson, Missouri (the Duttons), who sing c/w music and play instruments. There's nine adults and five children in this band. They made it through as well. We were very happy with the decisions regarding these two acts. They're both wonderful!
Now we will see how Ronee' does next week. If she makes it, great; if not, we'll still be proud of her. This is a chance of a lifetime for her. We'll keep you posted. :)
Johnny is still trying to make amends with Rebekkah Cohen and Susie Callaway. It appears that Susie is insanely jealous of Rebekkah because Rebekkah wants to spend more time with Johnny; meanwhile, Susie wants to keep Rebekkah to herself. It's really sad. Both girls have been through so muach together in their lives, and now another friend is in trouble; yet Susie would rather try to break up the close union that Rebekkah and Johnny share with each other. It sounds like she is being selfish. It's really tragic.
It's not fair that Johnny is caught in the middle like this. He is having problems with his own health as well; I don't want Susie's selfishness to cause him more grief; he doesn't need any more problems now! He has been doing great, and I'm afraid that the stress that he is facing will cause him to have a relapse!
I will go now; am at work. Working at the VA hospital this week; am taking care of Allie Nichole Soileau, who is recovering from surgery. She is still in a lot of pain, and until her stumps heal, therapy has been cancelled for her. Take care, journal, and will write in here again soon. God bless!
