Tottie is getting ready to be released from the hospital; soon she will return back home to her native Australia. As you can imagine, she is both excited and scared.
Tottie-girl here. i am happier now than I've been in weeks: am getting ready to be discharged from rehab hospital, back into the world. Soon, very soon, I shall return to Oz; oh, Aussieland, how I miss thee! :(
Still arguing with me bloody sticks; me arms are marked with scabs from the crutches' cuffs pinching me. Very annoying, that! Still having pain in me stump; damn-fool brain thinks me leg still there, me leg not there. It's as good as gone! Hard to get used to. Looks like I'm never going to get ahead!
I have been talking to me family back home; they are getting bonzer-excited at me returning. I'm looking forward to it; I miss me vegamite, I miss me Sydney landscape that I've called home all me life, I miss me chums, I miss the flora/fauna that makes Australia so unique! Ah, yes, 'twill be a most happy day indeed when I, Tottie Ruth Weatherspoon, go back home for good!
Oh, America is okay, but I'm afraid I'll never get used to the bloody Yank lifestyle: everyone in too much of a bloody 'urry! Rush, rush here, rush, rush there, no stops in between--Kee-rist, it makes me bloody head spin!!
I will miss Louisiana Sandusky, though: she been a good li'l sheila. Took real good care of me while I was in hospital. Have since met her amazing family of miracle-kids; God'amighty, I never seen so many bloody li'l nippers in all me born days! She said she'd write to me; wants to keep in touch wiht me. Very nice of her; I think I shall look forward to her letters (not to mention, the prayers).
Am about to go to the smoking area; going to have me a fag. Gotta' have me nicotine fit fixed; me lungs crave nicotine!!
Until later, take care, and pip, pip cheerio! G'day!
You've penned it well my friend, another realistic glimpse inside the life of yet another great character whom I enjoy reading about. I too like Felix almost feel as though I could visit her! Well done!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Interesting perspective; seems very real somehow. Thank you, Karen. Amour et paix, ton ami de la C-B, Canada,
