Dear Journal~
Jennifer Kaylin here. Sorry if I haven't posted anything in here lately; have been incredibly busy. Church keeps me focused; all of a sudden, my life looks much brighter, not only for me, but for Terri and our son, Ant'won Marcus.
Terri and I are still together; we still consider ourselves a couple, but I'm afraid we won't be getting married anytime soon. Our lifestyle is an abomination, according to the Bible; I am trying to figure out whether we should continue to live out the lesbian lifestyle we've had for so long, give it up completely, in order to please God, or WHAT. I'm so confused; my mind's been a whirlwind of emotions as of late.
I and Terri have both cmmmited ourselves to Christ. Church is our main focus now, as is reading the Bible, spending time in prayer, and taking care of Ant (and of course each other). It seems funny now, but ever since I made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savioiur, I feel--changed somehow. I feel cleaner, sanctified, reborn--and in a way, I was. I am a brand-new creatuer in Christ Jesus! :)
Terri, Ant'won, and I go to Living Waters Assembly of God Church here in Nashville. We go every Sunday (morning and night services) and Wednesday (evening only). While we adults are at the church services, Ant attends the Royal Rangers meetings, which are Christian-based activities for boys. Ant goes there to learn more about God--and to have fun, make new friends. He loves it very much.
Of course, Terri 's folks are happy that we "came around", yet they aren't so sure about our still being together. Yet they are willing to let bygones be bygones, let old hatred go away, are willing to get to try to know their grandson a bit better; so after church on Sundays, they invite us over for supper to spend quality time with us.
Moms is still upset about my being in a wheelchair, but I tell her that I'm not my chair (or my disability); it only makes up a small part of who I am. They are thinking of putting in a ramp for me so Pops (or Terri) don't have to keep carrying me (or my wheelchair) whenever we come over. (It'll save their backs, their health, for one thing.)
We have a great time with Terri's folks, but hopefully in the future, the feelings of uncertainty will ease. Lord, I hope so. Life is too short to hold animocities and/or unforgiveness like this!
Louisiana is tickled pink about our newfound Christian faith; whenever she comes over she is all atwitter, ready to offer us words of encouragement, share timely tidbits of information, even brings us some of her wonderful homemade Cajun cookin' (or her famous chocolate chip cookies with almonds or her sweet banana cake). She's been a real blessing in our lives; always has been ever since she first took care of me when I'd been injured several years back. She helped me through the difficult days of adjusting to life as a paraplegic, and she still helps out, still encourages us even now. Louisiana Sandusky is a true -blue friend, and I am glad that she is among my circle of friends, although our lifestyles have been quite different from one another.
Well, the phone is ringing, so I have to go. I'm the only one home: Terri took Ant to the zoo for the day. Ahhh, peace and quiet; I'm lovin' every minute of it! :) Or was. until the phone started to ring! I'll write in here again soon. Goodbye for now!
YOu sure keep up to date with your themes Karen Excellent story! btw theres a living water church in Illinois where I used to live won't allow gay people. Funny the differences in other places...
