At Christmas i visited my old home Bahrain, I had been told that i would meet an old pilot friend at some point whilst i was there by a medium, well no surprises really ( i used to work for the National airline! ) No matter, with my bag packed I was off to the airport for my holiday. As I sat in the departure lounge a man was reading 'Bury my heart at wounded knee'. This incredible book has a huge significance in my life as i was guided to that very place and wrote my book( Searching for Mooneyes after that journey). Anyway I smiled to myself as spirit gave me the little message, then my phone rang. Hi! It was my wonderful norwegian friend checking in with me to say hello before she left from California to go home for the holidays! I was happy to hear her , I remarked about the wounded knee book and she encouraged me to talk to the man who was reading it! He turned out to be on his way to Sao Paulo as he was half english , half brazilian and the son of a banker, he spent his life with one foot in Uk and the other in South America as he didnt know when to stop travelling! I laughed out loud, i was the daughter of a banker and had not known when to stop travelling as i had grown up in the Arabian gulf and still yo-yo-ed back and forth. The man was spooked out by all this information, his flight was called and off he went , promising to look out for my book as he was a film maker!
I carried on to my aircraft and then had a transit in beirut. The airline that I got my next journey with was my old employer, Gulf air, as i walked over the airbridge into the airport a captain called to me! The one the medium had mentioned would arrive in my life again!
I had a great time chatting with him and then he had to depart for his block he would call me on his return. I went into the arrivals hall to meet my wonderful bedu, my dear friend. we got into the car and drove to the desert.
Things were wonderful, the air was cool and fresh, the horses gleamed in the paddock. There were some new additions to the stable block and it would be a fun holiday. I settled into my little desert room and made plans to catch up with some old friends. Tomorrow I would drive around the island and see the changes.
As i was travelling round my old familiar haunts i kept seeing the symbol of a blue butterfly. The animal totem means that the person who sees it will experience great change. The caterpillar changes into a chrysalis and the butterfly emerges brand new and beautiful. I related this medicine to myself. I had left Bahrain almost seven years ago, now I returned but I was a truly changed person and all for the better!
