Dear Journal~
Much to talk about. This is Dr. Wright writing; sorry if I haven't written in here, but I have been having problems, serious problems. I haven't worked in nearly two weeks; my health won't allow it. Keep having these TIA's that scare the living he** out of me, and the situation with my sister Audrey and my niece Susie certainly isn't helping matters.
Susie is in the hospital, recovering from an emotional breakdown. She is now out of the ICU (thank God), but she faces a very lengthy recovery period. She isn't talking, but at least she is trying to eat and recover; a huge answer to prayer, indeed. Don't know how long she will be in the hospital, but I try to see her whenever possible.
Audrey has been acting very cold towards me and her friends. Don't know ecactly what is going on with her, but she has me worried. She chewed out her friend Louie Sandusky, and each time Louie tries to make amends, Audrey closes up. Just like her daughter. They act just alike. Very worrisome.
Louie Sandusky's pregnancy is progressing well, have found out she is carrying twin boys. How wonderful! I am so happy for her; she deserves to have good news once in a while; her life lately has been fraught with much drama. She also has a new foster child, a little six-year-old boy with cerebral palsy; name's Vincente. He came a week ago, met him the other day; what a little cutie!
Heard from Katrina Hammer; she was a patient we took care of two years ago when she came from Louisiana (she was a hurricane evacuee); she is now living in Alaska and is now married; has been married since May. I will have to write to her as soon as I can get some free time to myself.
The kids are keeping me busy: Brooklyn, Mwugu, and Emma have started school; Rheese is just being--well, adorable; after all, he is a baby! Looks just like me; it's like looking at myself as a newborn babe all over again. Freaky! Mwugu is going to school to learn English; he isn't that comfortable with it just yet, but he is eager to learn. Such a good little boy!
Emma and Brookie have since mastered English since coming from China; they have since assimilated into the American way of life, and they act like typical little elementary-age girls. Very feminine and mannerly. We raised 'em right; shows in their character; something Sarah and myself can take pride in! We did our job as parents right! :)
We may be putting in for another child; we are thinking of adopting another daughter, perhaps from Russia. It isn't set in stone; we have just been discussing it, and so far, Sarah seems excited about it. So am I; we would love to have a fifth child around the house!
I still have to go for dialysis; go two to three times a week. Very exhausting; on dialysis days I mainly sleep because I am so spent by the time the procedure is over. I then eat like a hog when I wake up; it never fails! No wonder I am getting rounder in the belly; my pants don't fit like they used to! (Time to go on a diiiiiiiiiiiiet, Wayne...*grins*)
Since my last hospitalization, I haven't worked; been two weeks now since I last set foot (Crutch?? Wheelchair??) on the hospital grounds; hard on the ol' paycheck, but at least we have our church family to help us. They bring us money and food; they continue to lift us up in prayer. You really learn who your true friends are when a crisis occurs! I don't know how we could have made it this far had it not been for our church family--let alone, our friends!
Sarah is still working part time at Krogers; she works there four days a week, from 10 in the morning until 2, right before the kids get home from school. She has worked at Krogers since 2005, and she loves it; she is a cashier; she loves interacting with the people who come in to shop.
I don't know what I am going to do ab out my job at the hospital; I may have to give it up if I don't stop having these darned TIA's! I don't want to be inactive; I want to be as active as possible, but lately my health has suffered, and things are only going downhill. I just wonder what's going to happen in a few years; it's terrifying to think about...
Well, I am going to lie down while the baby is down for his nap; just put him down not even fifteen minutes ago. Take care, and will write in here again!
An interesting story and so indicative of what goes on in many lives. People with problems concentrate on those problems, and too often happiness has to take a back seat. Good story, Karen.
Updated with just a little of everything - lots going on here - everything is nice and tidy in this entry like in a recipe box - it takes the numerous ingredients of these stories and journals to make each one of your writings a treat to us readers...thanks for the journal entry today, Karen Lynn...be well, you and Karla...
A realistic entry and update, following your journal entries is better than following a soap! More touching and lifelike...writing that we can connect with, with realistic characters! Enjoyed this much! They keep getting better!
