A Furry Friend decides to write her "Paw"-tobiography. Her brother "Furball" and sister "Meowser" have already done theirs.

*Meow!*

Nutz! Did it again! You're human! I'm Cat! LOL

HELlooooooooooo....

I am a Maine Coon. I am one of America's oldest breeds of cats; my ancestors came to Maine from parts unknown; we were reputed to have Ancestors dating to the times of the Pilgrims, who brought us over to kill the vermin runnin' wild on the ships they were traveling on.

Maine Coons, for the Uneducated, are known as "Gentle Giants"--and for good reason. Maine Coons are very large, hefty cats with the Males weighing as much as 20 pounds, and femalss coming in as much as 12 pounds. We are slow to mature; it won't be until five years of age until Maines reach their full mature height and weight.

We are very Pretty Cats, if I do say so myself. We have longish fur (longer on our Britches and Tail) that looks shaggy and uneven, but o, is it ever soft! We feel like silk to most Humans. Our ears are tall and regal-looking (they don't miss a trick), we have huge, oval eyes (usually green or yellow), a strong looking chin, a longish, straight nose, and our tails are profusely furred. O, yes, we are valued for our Looks!

I guess you can call us the Divas of the Feline World.

Oh, dear. I think I forgot to introduce myself. Well, my name's Tisket. I am six years old. I live with my Humans in Nashville, Tennessee. Let's see: there are the Big Humans (that's Mommy and Daddy) and three Small(-ish) Humans (those are the Children). My Humans' last Name is Hemphill.

If you want to know what I look like, all you have to do is look at my picture! Aren't I a diva?? :)

There's also a Dog-in-Residence; there's nothing more I love than beatin' the crap outta' him when he least expects it. He is a Weiner Dog (looks just like a hot dog with legs; 'bout the same color too!); name's Schultz. Sometimes Schultzie doesn't know when to leave well enough alone: he'll amble up to me on his short, fat, stubby legs, and Bark while I'm asleep; nothin' scares my pussycat Heart more than that.

So to show him who's Boss (and it ain't him...), I whap him one square on the puss with my Paw. That usually sends him scurryin' away, yelpin' his fool Doggie Head off.

I swear, some Canines are so STUUUUUUUUUUUUPID...

Especially ones like Schultzie. He's 'bout the DUMBEST one around!

It has been reported that I have Brothers named Stripes and Furball and sisters named Cajun, Genevieve, and Meowser. I think there's another one somewhere; I'm not sure on that; my memory ain't what it used to be. Or maybe I've had too many mouseburgers; clouded up my judgement or reasoning skills. ANYway, I wonder if any of my Furry Brothers or Sisters are even alive. I wonder if they even think of me.

I will have to investigate, get more into this...maybe I'll do a Google Search on them, see if they even exist...

Well, that computer mouse is lookin' mighty tasty, so before I snarf it up (and bust the computer; you can't have a computer without a mouse; why couldn't the Humans call it a Clicker, a Whizbang, or something else? To me a mouse is something to EAT, not play around with on a computer!!), I'd best go. 'Sides, I'm gettin' hungry; my Kittycat Tummy is growlin' worse than a Rapid (sic) Canine! (Note: Tisket meant "Rabid Canine".) On that note, so long! Will write in here again!

Hope you enjoyed my "Paw-tobiography"! I'm Meowin' outta' here! *MEOW!*

~"Tisket". :)

This is totally Whiskers! What a cartoon this would make with you doing the voiceover, narrating Tisket's Story: The Maine Coon Chronicles #3! This would be great done in audio book...you should think about getting set up to record from your computer, Karen Lynn...this would fit all age groups from daycare to adults. The stories that teach something are the stories we value for generations to come - and adding a dose of humor guarantees a marketing slant...be well you and Karla...

Love,
Sage
