A special dog with an important job shares her inspiring story.

...Sorry if it took me so long; try typing with four furry paws! I'll try to do this without too many mistakes.
My name is Ginger, a golden Labrador Retriever. I am a Service Dog to MyJohnny, my Human. I adopted him four years ago.
MyJohnny has Duchenne's muscular dystrophy. a neuromuscular wasting disease, as best as I understand it. He was real little when the doctor diagnosed him; he was not supposed to live past the age of five.
Now he's 14 1/2.
MyJohnny's muscles are very weak; he drops things; I pick them up for him with my mouth. He has seizures; I bark an alert to his Mamma when I see one coming on. He doesn't always hear well or see well; I protect him and act as his ears and eyes.
Being a Service Dog is very busy, but MyJohnny is worth it. I love him as my own.
I go to school with MyJohnny. He's become very popular because of me.
There are other Humans in the house bessides MyJohnny. A lot of Humans: four Big Humans, and hundreds of Little Ones, all sizes, all ages, some darker than others; being a Dog, I only see in black and white.
There are many Animals here, too--other Dogs (including a very yappy Pomeranian), some Cats, two Birds, one Goat (although I wonder why), Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, and Fish. Loads of Butts to sniff, get to know. :) (Hey, I'm a DOG; that's how we happen to greet Each Other or Animals of other Species!)

A touching story and one of heart warming love and devotion. I loved the ending,(about socializing and all....). Great work you two!!!!!
