Curly blonde hair that frames her face like a halo. Huge, sparkling blue eyes that miss little. A cute little giggle that makes my own heart sing every time I hear it. A boundless bundle of insatiable energy. I look at my daughter, Heather Lindsay, and I can't help but smile.

It seems funny, but three years ago, she was so sick. She was born with a severe heart anomaly (Epstein's anomaly) that threatened her life before she even had a chance to live. She spent several months in the hospital (most of that in the NICU for the sickest patients), and her survival at that time was highly unlikely.

God, however, intervened: after many months, weeks, of ferverent prayers, He healed my daughter's diseased, damaged heart. He gave her new life, and now because of His Miraculous Touch, my daughter, now a happy, giggling three-year-old, is thriving--and her future looks very bright indeed.

Heather Lindsay is enjoying her role as big sister: she has a one-year-old brother named Chandler Bryce, who is the apple of her eye; she dotes on him; she is more than happy to help mommy and daddy take care of him.

Speaking of babies, we are getting ready to have our third child: we are having another boy in two months, and we are going to name him Harper Clint. We will soon have two boys and one girl. Our little family is certainly growing by leaps and bounds!

Now, Heather Lindsay, even with her good health, still has to be careful: she has to take special medication for her heart for the rest of her life, and every month, her heart specialist has to see her, just to make things are going well for her. So far, there have been no problems. She also has to be careful during cold/flu season: in the fall or winter we don't let her go out much; we do it to protect her because there is no telling what the germs or viruses might do to her body, especially since she had heart problems.

If she gets sick, Heather often has to be admitted to the hospital, just as a precaution. You can't take too many chances with her health. Whenever she falls ill, I am terrified. Very much so.

Heather is a very smart little girl, and she loves to play: dolls, dress up, play catch with her brother, show her brother off to friends or strangers, ride her trike, ride her car, talk on the play phone or play on the computer: she is a very busy little girl, and nothing really slows her down.

I look at the pictures of her being so sick in the hospital and I look at her now, and I can't help but feel blessed. God surely brought me an angel in disquise in the form of a energetic, little, giggling three-year-old, and I am more than happy to be her mother.

Heather Lindsay is everything to me.
