Dear Journal~
Louisiana here. I am doing much better emotionally: things are finally starting to improve for our family--and for friends. I can finally put all the fear, worry, and uncertainties behind me.
First off, Johnny is due to be released from the hospital sometime tomorrow after spending nearly two weeks there, and Ronee', his sister, is expected to be released early next week, according to their doctors. Both are doing very well, and each day they feel more like themselves.
I can't wait; the house is too quiet without Ronee' 's precociousness and Johnny's shy, yet gregarious spirit. The house isn't the same when they're not here.
Secondly, Susie Jackson is expected to recover; she is now awake. Susie still faces a lengthy time in rehab as she relearns new things. She did suffer some brain damage, but the doctors think they can work around that and get her back.
Rebekkah Cohen is doing very well too: receiving tons of therapy, emotional state improving by the day. She now realizes the mistake she almost made. She is bound and determined not to let it happen again. I think being that close to dying scared her more than anything.
I have been keeping in close contact with Naomi (Rebekkah's mother) and Audrey (Susie's mother), and both are as elated as I about the prognosis for their girls. It is definitely a miracle; God intervened in those situations, and now the Cohens and Callaways are emerging from the darkness into the light.
Our family is doing well: I am getting bigger by the day, the babies are doing great, according to my OB-GYN, Bill is trying to keep his mind occupied while he is on leave from work (so he can take care of me and the kiddos), and Dwerlina thinks she may be pregnant. Oh, joy. LOL Another grandchild perhaps? If so, that will be grandchild #7 or #8; can't remember which. LOL There's so many of them! LOL
The weather here is still relatively warm; fall hasn't really sunk in yet, but the leaves are changing fast. It won't be long before we are at peak season; the leaves are ablaze with color; very beautiful to see.
The ducks and Canadian geese have decided to make our backyard pond their home; every morning and dusk they gather there, and the kids are just fascinated by them. The cats sit there, licking their chops, the dogs want to go out there and chase them. There must be at least fifty birds out on our pond at any given time, and sometimes egrets and herons join them.
Our church is getting ready for their annual Harvest Festival, which will be held on October 30 and 31; it's a two-day affair this year. Pastor Bilkey will probably discuss more details at church this weekend; no doubt, looking for volunteers to man the event, trying to figure out the exact plan of events there. So busy times are ahead for us at Christ Community Assembly of God!
We have gained twelve new families into our church body; we may have to expand our church. It's getting too crowded, even with three services; we may have to add a Saturday night service to accomodate the extra flow of people!
God has been blessing our church family: somehow financial worries are alleviated, somehow people manage to dig a little deeper and give to the storehouse, we are able to provide our choir new robes, purchase new Bibles, and supplies for the nursery and children's ministry. People are reaching out to those who are hurting, and the angels up above are busy fielding prayers to deliver to God.
Vincente is doing well: he loves his new (foster) family, and we love him. He is such a gentle little boy, and we are so proud to have him with us. Maybe he'll stay with us permanently, or maybe he'll go to another family; I don't know, but it is all up to God. We can't control what He does in our lives. If he wants us to have Vincente, then it shall be. You may never know...
What's one more mouth to feed anyway? I think we've done pretty well with the children we have now! :)
Well, it's still early, so I am going to go back to sleep. Might as well take advantage of it while I still can! (Until Ian and Isaiah decide to play kickball with my bladder, that is LOL) Take care and God bless!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tennessee, Louie May. :)

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
