Louisiana Sandusky, unable to sleep, writes in her journal; she writes about Johnny's homecoming and the busyness of her family around her as she tries to stay on bedrest.

Monday, October 8, 2007, Nashville, TN--4:03 a.m., D.S.T. (couldn't sleep)~

Dear Journal~

Louisiana here. Sorry for the early wake up call, but I can't sleep; insomnia's payin' me a visit.

Johnny's back home, home from the hospital. He's a little weak, but he's feeling a lot better; feels more like himself. We've been watchin' him like a hawk, making sure he eats and takes his medication. So far, no problems, but he has to be on the oxygen a good portion of the time now; one only wonders when he'll need to have a tracheostomy in order to breathe as his lungs weaken--it's too terrible to think about.

The kids have been hanging around their brother, they have missed him terribly. They want to play with him, but Bill tells them he needs to rest, so they'd best leave him alone.

I have been listening for any sounds of labored breathing from Johnny's room, but all is (thankfully) silent. His breathing is nice and even, no signs of struggle.

Speaking of hospitals, Ronee' is due home later today. She is just about recovered from her latest flare. Ronee' has to go back on her crutches because her hands are getting bad; she is to have surgery on them in January 2008 because the nerves are becoming affected from the canes' pressure on her palms; she's also been having problems with her fingers, wrists; the JRA is getting worse in her hands.

Ronee' doesn't like the prospect of having to use her crutches again, but she really has no choice in the matter.

Arjun and Corbin both have come down with colds; both boys are bundled in bed, sneezing and wheezing their heads off. I feel sorry for them; poor Arjun really sounds like he's miserable. Bill is having to play nurse to them, has been running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Heard from Dwerlina and her new husband Andre', the news is official: Dwerlina IS pregnant! So it looks like another grandchild for us in 2008! O, happy day!...

Next weekend marks "Pastor Appreciation" at our church. We plan on getting our senior pastor (and the other pastors) something special, to show our appreciation for their neverending service to the Lord. We are so blessed to have such a caring, compassionate pastoral staff!

After services on Sunday we are having a potluck dinner for our pastoral staff (only they don't know it yet). The ladies of the church have been busy trying to get enough in the way of food, supplies; we are going to have a "dinner-on-the-grounds", and it promises to be a good time for one and all.

Which means no going out to eat next Sunday; we are eating at church.

The weather is a little rainy, not too bad, but enough to make my arthritis act up a little bit. Maybe that's why I couldn't sleep. Either that or it's because Michael "Air" Jordan and Charles Barkley (aka Ian and Isaiah, the twinks inside my belly) are still jockeying for position; they keep kicking me in the bladder; also the ribs have been nailed a few times. A bit painful, but mostly uncomfortable.

I cannot WAIT until they are born; then I won't have to continuously have the Olympics going on in my belly! LOL

Bill has been asking me what we are going to get the kids for Christmas; says that Wal*Mart is already getting their Christmas stuff out--and it's not even Hallowe'en! Crazy how the stores rush the season like this; it's rediculous!! They should at least wait until the middle of November to put out the Christmas items, not before Hallowe'en!

Bill said the last time he took the gang out to Wal*Mart (last Saturday), the kids went nuts in the costume aisle. They were throwing stuff everywhere, and the clerks got annoyed at them. They love to try on the latest costumes, and are planning their digs for the Harvest Festival at church. Bill kept telling them no scary costumes, but Arjun insisted on running around the place sporting a Frankenstein mask, roaring like a monster at the top of his lungs, scaring his sisters halfway to death!

Boys. You gotta' love 'em! (And I do! Especially if they're mine! :) )

And to think, there'll be two more boys in less than three months! WHEE!! :)

No, siree, life is never dull around "Camp Sandusky"! :)

Well, I am going to go now; going back to sleep before I get interrupted. I got sleepy all of a sudden; maybe Insomnia has decided to vacate the premises (I can only HOPE!). Will write in here another day. Take care and God bless!

~Love, your friend, Louie May. :0 *yawning*

LOL, Karen,

Johnny home; Ronee coming home; kids coming down with colds (just what Johnny and Ronee need); two basketball stars encamped in the womb; the thrill of chasing 6o kids through a Wal*Mart: life never dull in the Sandusky household! Enjoyed this one; well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
