If you ever watched a child with some sort of handicap longer than just for a heartbeat, you know how wonderful is feels to make them smile and forget about their pain. Even if it’s just for an instant.

At this year’s ‘Heart o’ Texas Fair and Rodeo’ in Waco, Texas, the Special Kids Rodeo was in full swing and my husband Troy tickled giggles out of so many of the participating children.

His appearance as the clown and barrelman is always very special to any children, but it’s the ones who are mentally and physically challenged who seem to really get a kick out of him.

Troy, just as the bull fighters, donates his free time to entertain the children and their parents during a few hours of fun. Many rodeos offer this special time to help these families with ‘handicapped’ children to forget about their ordeal daily life puts upon them.

My heart goes out to all of those families, the kids especially, and I know that God has his guiding hand above them. In my opinion, these children aren’t ‘handicapped’, as much joy they are able to fill my heart with, just watching them smile, they are truly ‘Special’.
