Dear Journal~
Johnny here.
I am trying to remain positive, but it's getting harder to do. I get out of breath so easily now, I end up coughing at the least inopportune times, and I'm on oxygen 24 hours a day now. It's really a pain having this, this muscular dystrophy.
I am feeling okay, but my breathing is a big issue for me. I worry about my next breath, whether I will start gasping again whenever I do something strenuous, trying to figure out what I can do that won't impede my breathing, something that won't get me to start coughing/gasping all over again.
I guess you heard the news: that I will have to probably have a trache tube in my throat and/or breathe with a ventilator by the time Christmas rolls around. I am not looking forward to that because then I won't be able to talk; once people get to know me, they will find out that I'm a real blabbermouth once I open up!
I have that to look forward to (not!! That means another hospital stay, more surgery), and it's gotten me bummed out, big time. My disease is getting worse, and it really has me disenheartened!
Rebekkah is doing better: she e-mailed me, asked me how to join MySpace. I told her how; we'll see if she pops up. My sister Ronee' is on there; she already has something like twenty friends, including some famous folk. I have been on there for a day now, and have about five friends. Will have to go there after I get off here and see if I got any more friends. Hope so!
The weather may get nasty by this afternoon. It's already clouding up; weatherman says there may be severe weather, including the threat of tornadoes, in our area. Hope not; my weather radio will be busy later! I don't mind severe weather; I just don't want any damage from it!
I may not be on the computer much today until the weather settles; may have to wait until tomorrow to visit MySpace and to e-mail Rebekkah.
Well, lunch is fixin' to end, so I gotta' run. Take care and God bless!
Well well well, so our Johnny's bouncing back from previous blues, and I have the satisfaction to say "I told you so", because a brave little soldier cannot be kept down!!!!!!!!!
Georg
Johnnys disease is progressing and its taking a toll on everyone, especially with Johnny. I know Rebekka Rachel is worried about him...
God Bless
Michelle~
Johnny sounds good for what he is going through. It's good he is staying in touch with Rebekkah and now with friends on MySpace. Maybe he can meet some new friends on MySpace that also live with the disease of Muscular Dystrophy. It's a good way to compare symptoms and also discuss hobbies and creativity to get Johnny's mind away from the disheartening side of the disease...thanks for the jottings today, Karen Lynn...be well you and Karla...Blessed Be.
