Saturday, October 20, 2007, 5:11 a.m. (can't sleep)~
Dear Journal~
Bill here. I can't sleep; have too much on my mind.
First of all, my wife is acting awfully quiet, like she's trying to hide something from me. Ever since that phone call yesterday from Kendra Williams-Kent, she's been quiet, which is not like her. Usually my wife is a real chatterbox!
I hope she isn't thinking of leaving me...or seeing another man....I don't know what I would do if I found out my spouse was cheatin' on me---
Secondly of all, she is having difficulty getting around. When she needs to get up, I have to have one of the older boys left at the house to help me; I can't do it all by myself, not with my bad back, knees, and such. I would unhinge everything the doctors did when I had my recent back surgery; that would not be good!
Thirdly, she's worried about Jenna and Michael Doucet: they had their second son, Kenai Remington, and according to Jenna's last e-mail, he isn't doing very well. Been having problems with his heart racing and his temperature going up and down like a yoyo. He's only 11 days old, but he's so fragile; any number of things can happen to him; he's still in danger of dying. I will have to say more prayers on the Doucets' behalf.
Fourthly, Louie's worried about Johnny: he's been having a devil of a time with his MD, and now it's affected his breathing; he's on supplimental oxygen all the time now, and his doctors think he will have to have a tracheostomy and/or be on a ventilator by Christmas, a sure sign that his disease is progressing faster than it's been lately. Scary to think about!
I wonder if this will be Johnny's last year on Earth; hope not, but that is something we can't control; it's up to Jesus if Johnny lives longer or not; we have no say in the matter, unfortunately.
Johnny seems to be okay, but I am sure he worries just as much as I do; after all, it's his health that's at stake! He's put on a brave affront, and he is one of the most courageous young men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing!
Ronee', meanwhile, is over her flare; she's back to her usual chipper, cheerful self. She's still arguing with her crutches, but then that's nothing new. She wishes she still had her canes; but the canes have put too much pressure on her hands (I guess from her leaning too hard on them as she walked), and now she's having problems; she's due to have surgery at the start of next year.
Heard from the Mason bunch: Louisa is in the hospital; her MD is acting up; she's under a lot of stress in her life. Bill (her husband) has left her, and she's having problems with one of the kids (Aerial); what, I don't know all the details yet, but it's turned her life upside down. I will have to pray for the Masons as well.
Kendra has been sick as well. I hope it isn't anything serious. Another one to add to the ever-growing prayer list at church---
We are gearing up for the Harvest Festival at our church; next week we'll be working hard, getting things ready for the festival. The festival is on Hallowe'en night, October 31; that's only 11 days from now. It's creeping upon us fast!
Pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving, then Christmas; then our new sons will be here! I pray all goes well for Louie and the boys; we have already been through more than enough this year; it's been a bad one! I pray 2008 is much kinder to us! Lord knows, we certainly can use a break from all the bad news!
Well, I am going back to sleep; good night! Talk to y'all later!
OK, this is a time to be a little frivolous, Bill needs a big glass tumbler up to its rim with Wild Goose, a rocking chair on the porch and a empty mind to take in the autumn's colors, nothing else.
Or is soul will be overwhelmed and he will be good for nothing to help anyone, not even himself.
Life is hard, and one, now and then, must take a respite.

Definitely a solid couple. Louisiana is just trying to keep it together with everything she is hearing. A lot is happening.

A good night's sleep will put Bill at ease...all the worries of a big family and the many Sandusky friends comes with the territory. But the good outweighs the bad and everyone is close and tight-knitted into one another's family and extended family...thanks for the journalings today, Karen Lynn...be well you and Karla...Blessed Be.
There are certainly a lot of things going on in Bill's mind. He is worryinng about everyone and a whole lot of other things. Perhaps that is the reason why he couldn't sleep...
