Johnny is looking forward to dining out tonight with his family after school. Tonight the local Golden Corral is feeding veterans free meals, as a celebration of Veteran's Day.
Monday, November 12, 2007, 7:14 a.m., on the school bus, heading for school~
Dear Journal~
Johnny here. Hope this finds you well; I'm doing good, nothing much, really, to complain about.
Ths won't be long; am currently on the bus, headin' for school. I hope I end up having a good day; have my dog, "Ginger", with me; she's carrying my homework and my school bag, so I don't have to worry about losing it. She's very good at carrying my things.
She's a good and faithful friend! :)
Anyway, yesterday was Veteran's Day. Yesterday, daddy, Barbara, Ronee', and Richard went to the Veteran's Day parade the city had (they went after the first church service; they missed the second service so they could be there in time for the parade); then they went to the veteran's hospital, to see some of the veterans currently in there. They do this every year.
I was a little bummed that I didn't get to go; I would have liked to gone to the parade or see the veterans in the hospital! But noooooooo--as usual, I get left out--again. It's really frustrating; it's like Ronee' gets to do everything while I seem to be left behind!
I guess you can say I was a little perturbed. Well, I was!
However, tonight, I get to go out to dinner. Not just me, but daddy, Michael, Barbara, grandpere' Armand, and his wife, my granny, Therese. Six of us are going.
We're going to the Golden Corral, who is feeding all veterans free meals. (The rest of the family--the non-veterans--have to pay for their meals, darn it!) I think that is very nice of them to do this for the veterans; it's their way of saying, "Thank you. Thank you for serving; you served us; now it's our turn to serve YOU!"
You can bet the Golden Corral will be rockin' tonight. Veterans from all over the Nashville metropolitan area will be headin' out to eat on good home cooked meals made fresh daily; and people will be coming up to them and saying thanks to them.
It's always a lot of fun; yet it takes a while sometimes to find a seat. It gets crowded on special events like this! Good for business, and especially good for the veterans and their families!
YUM!! I love eating out, especially at places like the Golden Corral, Shoney's, Burger King, or Ryan's/Fire Mountain! When I go out to eat, I can really make a pig outta' myself! LOL (Time to break out the trowel, Johnny, as my mom says! LOL)
I just hope that there's enough food by the time we get there! I'm aways worried they're going to run out because of the huge crowd of people! I'd be sooo disappointed if we got there, only to have to turn around and go elsewhere because all the seating was taken!
That'd just be my luck! Something always happens to screw up my plans! It really irks me, big time!
Well, the school is in sight, so I guess I'd be going now. I will write in here in a day or two, as soon as I let my belly flop around after eating all that delicious Golden Corral food! I just hope we get IN to the place, that's all I gotta' say! Take care and God bless!
~Love, your pal, Johnn-o. :P (thinkin' of all that tasty food tonight! YUMMERS!)
Your bet is safe Johnny, it was rocking at many Golden Corrals on Veterans Day.
In the name of my less fortunate brothers and sisters, Thanks a million.
