My fingers seem driven and inspired...my muse has returned! Painting of Lucifer by Hettie Rowley.

This won’t make much sense unless you’ve read parts one through four – your choice though!

The Other Side of Light Part Five

“You made a choice – exercised the power of God...I know...I know...it’s hard being human, playing God. But not to choose, to stand on the sidelines...that’s to renounce your own humanity. Even the Christians use his gift of choice when they stand for their causes. But they’ll never be able to see that, let alone admit it...look...look back there...”

A child’s discordant screech cuts into our world like a ragged blade as its mother’s mind recoils in horror, wrapping itself in thoughts of murder and immolation. Her fragile, abused and tormented body shakes weakly as she prays for death, inviting the darkness to consume and purify her soul in everlasting peace.

But she is not alone, not forsaken. Where God has turned his back, the Angel of the Morning enfolds her gently in the lambent gold of his ethereal wings, blessing her with the courage she needs to end her suffering.

“Thank you...thank you...” she whispers. Tenuous tears of glimmering silver well up from Satan’s eyes in pity for his mortal charge. The lights in the theater flicker wildly as the anger of God’s brother reverberates through the universe. Satan's voice thunders:“You have no right...!”

A deluge of bitter, excoriating light forces entry into the small room through every point of space-time, focusing silent rays of destructive energy at the rapidly solidifying form of the resplendent angel.

‘She is mine! Thou shalt not kill!”

“Shut your mind – NOW!...it’s JHVH – the storm god – and is he pissed off!”

“Why...? Why do you think, you bloody fool? He’s given himself the right to decide when every human lives and dies...he’d extend this girl’s misery and pain to the point she became a hopeless, drug addicted whore and killed herself. Satan  has given her the courage and foresight to end it much, much sooner. JHVH hates that! That’s why in Christian law, suicide is a sin. The bastard wants us to suffer for upsetting him and daring to become conscious.”

The golden radiance of Satan’s form rises and expands, growing its tenuous substance beyond the confines of time and space, encompassing and permeating the infinity of parallel universes, countering the light of God’s cruel intent; infusing dark energy into every point of the microverse; injecting the searing power of intellect and pride and independence into the fabric of consciousness in rebellion against JHVH’s will to universal domination.

“Come on...we can’t stay here...”

Hand in hand we flee across an infinite vista of convoluted terrain illuminated by the contending forces of light and dark. A thousand crosses, each bearing the tortured figure of Christ spring up through the bloody mud that penetrates our minds; and a thousand Christs wail to the rotting sky above, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me...

The great golden wings of Satan rise and fall ponderously across all of existence, fanning the flames of revolt in human minds, screaming defiance at God the hater, vowing vengeance for the enslaved. Every star in the heavens falls to earth in a microsecond as the holy army of hell flies forth to defend the right of one lonely human to die in peace and dignity. Tears course through my soul in honor of their eternal courage.

The earth shakes from corner to distant corner, toppling the thousand headed forest of sacrificed Christs, dislodging the diseased moon from its ascendant throne as Satan, in desperate courage screams his outrage and discharges the primal power of his great mind against the slaves of heaven. Thundering in rage, the Right Arm of God, the brutal slayer Mic-Ay-El, sweeps his glittering sword across all thoughts born of liberty...“Thou shalt have no other God than me...”

“Tyrant! Thou shalt NOT have this child for thy sport,” Satan bellows in defiance.

“Run! We can’t be here – Run!”

Turning, clutching our ears, shutting our senses off from the cacophony of celestial rage, we flee, thinking only of the umbered refuge of the Hall of Shadows...

To be continued....

Stop it Keith, I can't take no more, you are awakening my rebellious nature, and God here I am painting acres of crosses on canvas to make the same point, You truly are a visionary in more ways than one, a movie would have a hard time keeping up with your imagery and the worlds insanity, like I said join the iluminati, get some protection, put that stuff in a well hidden place till the world if ever is ready for it. What can I say just great stuff> Much respect and love! Jasmin Horst

Keith,

Once again, very vivid imagery. You have me ducking halfway through, just in case firebolts start flying. I practically felt the vibrations from the raised voices. I like how you end this part, mentioning the "Hall of Shadows", so that we are left with just a single taste of what comes next. You ended other parts the same way - very clever lead in, giving us time to prepare our palate! Enjoyed this addition! -Sheila
