Keeping a secret!
A couple had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary but the wife was now feeling rather poorly. They were a couple who shared their ups and downs but there was one secret that his wife kept in a shoebox and had never told her husband about it.
As time was against her, the husband brought the shoebox down from on top of the bedroom chest of drawers. In her presence he opened it. Inside where two knitted dolls and £20,000. Not understanding the need for secrecy, he asked her to explain.
"Well, when I married you some sixty years ago, my mother said, never go to bed in anger. If you feel angry, knit a doll."
"Oh said the husband, married for 60 years and only two dolls. That’s not bad is it dear? And what about the £20,000?"
"The £20,000, yes, well, that was my earnings from all the other dolls I knitted.!"
