A new monk arrived in a monastery and was asked to copy Canon, the manuscript from previous centuries. After a days work, the young monk enquired about what he was copying. He told the Abbot that the script seemed very recent and had a few typing errors that he had to correct. The Abbot was saddened to hear this news. He rose and left the Abbey. He descended into a cave beneath the Monastery and walked through the ancient passageway until he came to a sealed chest dating back some two thousand years. This contained the original Canon and had to be consulted for clarification. He broke it open, the first to do so in all those years. When he saw the Instruction for Priests’ documents, he let out a cry from the depth of his heart.
" The ‘R’ is missing."
" The ‘R’ is missing."
The young monk was worried about the Abbot’s absence so he followed him down into the deep cave. As he approached, the Abbot was shouting louder and louder. "The ‘R’ is missing!"
"Abbot, what are you saying", he enquired.
The instruction was CELEBRATE!
