Martha decided to emigrate from the UK to a rural part of Germany and through her e-mail enquired of a German Estate Agent about a suitable small cottage in a village, complete with bathroom ensuite and WC.
The German agent was not confident in his translation and so took a copy of Martha''s letter to the Pastor whose English was much better.
"WC? Ahhhh a good church go-er I think. WC can only stand for a Wesleyan Chapel."
Armed with this information, the Estate Agent replied to Martha thus:
"The WC is situated about nine miles from the residence in the centre of a pine forest amid delightful surroundings. It is open on a Tuesday and a Thurdsay. This is unfortunate if you are in the habit of going regularly, but you will no doubt be glad to hear that a number of people take their lunch and make a day of it.
The accommodation is good, over eighty seats and should you be late at any time, there is plenty of standing room. A bell is rung ten minutes before the WC is opened. I would specially advise your ladyship to pay a visit on Tuesdays, as on that day, there is an organ accompaniement. The volume of sound is excellent, even the most delicate sound is heard all over the building.
I should be delighted to reserve the best seat for you and to have the honour to sit next to you. Hymn sheets are provided, hanging behind the door and the pastor will come round at intervals to offer any assistance.

PS My wife and I have been unable to go for eight months. This pains us both very much.
