This has been a hard past month and hard on us as we watched our loved ones pass away and others end up in the hospital with heart attacks because they believed it always happens to others, well guess what we are the others and until we take care of ourselves this is what happens
Life is too short as we all know, think where did the past year go and what has happened over the past year. It is never too late to make the changes we need to survive in life.
Happy New Year to all.
I walk through the days as though it were a dream, so much happening, so much I have no control over. Hospitals filling up with so many that could have helped themselve so very long ago but today it is too late for today they can only survive till tomorow. I look at those following in the same footsteps and There is nothing I can say or do to change it. Their answer is to go and buy bigger clothes, bigger clothes that can't cover the heart that is screaming for help. The heart that is begging to be helped. I look around they are still smoking and their eating disorder is out of control. Do they want to live? I ask myself as I watch them put away another hamburger or chunk of chocolate cake smothered in frosting. I feel like a shadow in the back ground, I stand there in silence and watch how they abuse their bodies and beg for a remedy to take care of it all. We have so much knowledge today on what we should eat and the exercise to keep out heart strong yet we tend to ignor it. When we are told it is too late to ,make the changes we get so upset but it is us who never listened in the first place when we had the chance to do something for us for our life for our heart. I remember as a child being taught that God helps those who helps themselves so I know I have to make the first move. Why can't they see what is going on, why can't they want to make the difference so their lives will go on. It hurts to watch a loved one fade away, it hurts to always try to tell them they have to do something before it is too late. We know irt isn't east but it is all about LIFE or DEATH one or the other which do you chose. We won't always have tomorrow to make the difference that w should be making today.
For your health, for the love of your family and friends make that difference today. Take it one day at a time. My New Years resolution is to take better care of myself so that I will be here tomorrow to enjoy my life with you the ones I love and care for and who love and care for me.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE We wish each of you all the Health & Happiness in 2008
Rose,
Thank you, on the eve of 2009, this is ever so applicable and as an
inventor, and scientist I have so many dreams, starting with self-preservation for myself and others. I thought the same things 20 years ago when the Lord asked to tell my Mom to stop smoking, and she got so angry at me. Then I was told by God that I done everything I could do. This year she died of complications of cancer. But, I loved her anyway. She did stop smoking and went on the patch a year or two ago, but it made her eyes bug out from her glaucoma, so she had to smoke again. Anyway, I feel your pain.
As a scientist it always hurts me that I know I can help people, if I could just have someone's help myself, maybe with them helping me build and maintain a lab in a foreign country, since I am not a doctor and could never work here like that, but to help develop, what I know would work, that a doctor could use. The tools, eyes and ears to identify, target, and repair what is awry. That is my life's work, to better the human race, especially for those who can't help themselves.
Thanks Rose for a great story, even a year later. You should repost this revised every year, for people who re-evaluate every New Years, for people who want to make a positive change in their life and make a resolution with others to do something positive, so we don't have to grieve over them. sooner than we should have to do. When you wrote it did you imagine that due to an accidental injury you would need our prayers? We always think this happens to someone else like you said, right Rose? EVERYBODY, SAY A PRAYER FOR ROSE AND YOURSELF! LIFT A GLASS AND SAY, "HERE'S TO ROSE'S HEALTH!!!"
I had to read this again, because I have to renew my resolution-- the one I share with you... Be good to yourself and to your body-- afterall, it's only on loan, you know. --Charlie
Your words are so true! Many feel something won't happen to them . They don't heed the warning signs, don't take the time or innitative to try to change. Some don't seem to care. When faced with a life threatening event, its sometimes too late. We should savor each day and live it the best we can . One never knows what tomorrow will bring. Life has become much more precious to me since I have learned about the illness I have. I have learned to cope with it for now. I try to bring awarness to others in hopes it will help them understand what its like to have Alzh. They might be able to do something to help them selves or others who have it...God Bless. Thanks for sharing this timely article.....M
Hi Rose,
You wrote this well Rose. Some of the young ones should lose some weight but they are young and so tired. Yet so strong and growing fast. It is impossible to see them go hungry...Best wishes...Joyce
This is a great write and great advice to those who have failed to understand what they are doing to themselves and especially their loved ones to be left behind to mourne. Our family has certainly experienced enough of that for the past months and do not wish it on any others. So please everyone reading this take heed.
Love you sis,
Selena

An important message within the lines my friend...I recently joined weight watchers no so much to loose weight, but to also learn to eat healthy, have a support group, help lower my cholesterol, blood pressure, and yes to loose a few pounds in the process...a great write and reminder my friend, good luck my friend with your resolution and happy new year...enjoyed the write!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
Thank you for the reminder; trouble is, to eat healthy, it is more expensive. For those on limited income, about the only food affordable is high fat or bad for you...at least in my case. Well penned!
You are so true in this one, healthy eating though difficult for some can be managed the big thing is not to deprive yourself on fad diets but see a proper nutritinist who will teach you the key is in all things moderation not deprivation. thanks for reminder dear Cuz.
