Nashi is now out of the hospital, recovered from her recent bout with pneumonia. Her family is of course delighted; they are working with her to regain lost health.
To look at our daughter laughing and waving her arms in joy causes us to break out into smiles, as we know that she is finally feeling more like herself.
Nashi is out of the hospital, recovered from her recent bout of pneumonia. Oxygen and antibiotics have produced another victory for her. She is again laughing, enjoying her toys, enjoying the fact that she's back home, in her bedroom, where she belongs.
For a while, we thought she was going to die on us. Twice during her stay in the hospital she stopped breathing, and a Code Blue was called on her. We were never so scared when we saw the doctors and nurses trying to revive our daughter; we were certain that this was it, the end, for her.
Now that's all behind us. She's back to her normal speed, laughing, making her happy noises. All is well in her world. She is surrounded by her toys, her kitty, "Moshie", and us, her family; that's all she needs to make her happy. She also has her favorite music playing on her stereo, which brings her more joy.
Best of all, Nashi's not throwing up after every feeding, and she's keeping her liquid nutrition, even her meds, down. She hasn't had a seizure since coming home from the hospital, nor any reoccurance of acid reflux attacks. Her color is the bset it's been in weeks, and her blind eyes sparkle with life, just as they do when she's healthy.
This is how we know Nashi is feeling good: she laughs, her movements are more animated, and she plays with her toys or with us. Even Hyman is enjoying her more than he was prior to her getting sick: he realizes that she is special, and that she needs help; he's been a super brother, helping her out whenever it is needed, with no complaining about it.
The change in Hyman has been incredible.
We are thinking of taking the kids to Disneyworld for vacation. Tovah has vacation time coming up from his work; we thought it would be ideal if we took the kids to Disneyworld. We've already made the reservations; all we have to do now is wait, anticipate the excitment that surely lies ahead for us.
We will be going to Disneyworld during Easter Break, when the kids are out of school. It will be a perfect time to go.
Of course, Hyman is estatic; we are sure that Nashi will be too. She loves Mickey Mouse, anything Disney. She can listen to the Disney movies over and over again without getting bored; she especially adores the Little Mermaid and Pocahontas. She also adores Winnie The Pooh.
Nashi has a huge Winnie The Pooh on her bed; she sleeps with him every night when not in the hospital. He's her favorite toy, her bestest buddy.
Well, Nashi's nutrition pump is sounding an alarm; have to see what's going on. Will write in here again soon; hopefully Nashi will continue to make strides in her recovery since coming out of the hospital. Things for her haven't looked better!
