Dear Journal~

Sorry for not writing; you know  how it is when you are wrangling a bunch of kids! LOL With nearly fifty some kids still at home, one doesn't get the oppotunity to get any rest until a.) they're all in bed (as they are now--thank GOD!) or b.) are in school (or the little ones are down for their naps).

Add to that working three days a week at Wally-World. Funsville! LOL

I am doing okay--mentally I am stable; take my meds or else it's "Cry in your beer time"; NOT good! (Especially since I don't drink!) As for my physical being, I have my good days and my bad days. My back is doing much better since the surgery (hardly any pain at all; the worst it gets is stiff!), but I still have the sciatic pain down the legs, the arthritis in my knees, hips, and feet, and am now getting it in my hands, wrists, and elbows.

Nice. (NOT!)

Of course, standing on my feet six to eight hours a day at Wal*Mart doesn't help; however, I'm just glad to be working. Got another raise; have now been at Wally-World for four years now. I love it; love interacting with the customers! They make my job interesting--not to mention a lot of fun!

The kids are all happy, healthy (for the most part); now that Johnny and Ronee' 's surgeries are behind them, they are both recovering, and they are getting back to their normal routines. Of course, Johnny sounds like E.T. with that trache tube in place; yet he's breathing much better, and his color's vastly improved; we are indeed pleased at his progress. As for Ronee', she doesn't have as much pain, and she's moving her fingers/hands so much easier. More reason to be happy.

Ronee' is going to audition for the third season of "America's Got Talent"; let's see if she makes it to the final round this time. Last year she got cut from the top 35; she was disappointed, but it makes her more determined to try out again, try to improve on her singing/musicianship. She's really coming a long way in her musical career; she just loves to perform for an audience!

Johnny is working on the finishing touches of his manuscript for the book he's doing about his life; he'll then mail it in to a publisher. If they accept it, then Johnny'll be a bona-fide author. Then there'll be three authors in our family: Louie (six books to her credit), Ronee' (two books), and (we hope!) Johnny. We'll have to pray that his manuscript is accepted! That'd be a big dream come true !

The snow is still on the ground; however, we don't have nearly as much as we did the other day. The days are warmer, and they're calling for rain, which will further melt the snow/ice still on the ground. It's been rather treacherous the last week; fell twice (didn't hurt myself, but did stove up the ol' bod *OW*; had to take a hot bath to unwind the ol' joints!).

And my wife (the dear!) had the NERVE to laugh at me!! Thanks for the support, honey! I love you, too!

Not to worry: I got her back when SHE fell a few days ago while getting out of the van. BOOM! Right on her heinie! Did you know my wife bounces?? She does! Like a rubber ball! LOL

She was not amused when I laughed at her.

Well, I know this isn't much, but I gotta' rest up for Super Bowl Sunday; church is having only their morning services; tomorrow night is the big Super Bowl Watch Party (GO, New York Giants!! WHO-HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!). Shall be fun! While the guys (and gals) watch the game (the adults or the teens, or the older kids), the younger kids will be in the sanctuary, having games, Bible Study, and music to keep them busy for a few hours while the football game's in progress. Should be a fun time for all!

(Snacks will be provided for the game watchers, and the kids'll eat in the church cafeteria when they are not in the sanctuary.)
