Louisiana Sandusky is concerned: tornado-laden "super-cell" storms are heading east towards Nashville after damaging parts of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jackson, Mississippi.
This won't be long; am in the middle of a tornado watch that may very well go into a warning if the storms to the west continue to hold together.
Memphis, Tennessee got hit hard, especially the southeastern section of the city. Hickory Ridge Mall sustained heavy damage, reports of a building collapse, homes damaged, nerves frayed...it's going to be a very long and bumpy night ahead.
The storms are heading this way; some are moving northeast at incredible speeds of up to 80 miles an hour. That does not give much warning!
So all of the family will be spending the night in our storm shelter, which is in our basement. Thank GOD we have it!! The kids will no doubt be terrified, especially the little ones.
Plenty of food, water, batteries for the weather radio and portable television. We will be keeping tabs on this developing weather situation. Hopefully Nashville will be spared the worst; all we can do now is hunker down, wait--and pray.
Bill's on his way home from work. He just called; said he should be home within ten minutes.
There's already lightning off to the west, and the wind is picking up, fast. I will have to shut this down soon. Just keep us in your prayers, pray we get through this stormy night in one piece! God, I am so scared!! I don't like storms!!
Will write as soon as I am able as soon as the storms pass and everything calms down. Take care and God bless!

Be careful but not hysterical about storms, they come and go, and after so many year...how lucky you have been?
Just take care and be safe.

One feels the nervous tension of Louisiana and her family waiting out the approaching storms. As bad as the south is getting pounded, don't blame her. AT LEAST THEY HAVE A BASEMENT/STORM SHELTER!!!! How I wish WE did. Excellent capture of the anticipation and the long, bumpy night ahead.
