Dear Journal~
Rebekkah Cohen here.
I'm in a lot of pain; it woke me up fom a sound slumber. I just had surgery a few days ago; doctors say that the third day afterwards is when a patient feels the most pain.
No kiddin'! It feels as if someone's pullin' my stumps in half. OW! Doctor just ordered some pain killers, nurses going to give it to me, then will continue writing until it knocks me on my butt!
I am in a fairly good mood; I just wish I were back home with Mama, Daddy, and my brothers and sisters. I am so sick of hospital food I could just spit!! GAD, how I HATE it!!
Give me a juicy Whopper or Big Mac ANY day!! Or maybe a taco or two!!
I am happier today than I've been since prior to the surgery. There's a remote possibility that I may be able to dance, even though I may not be able to walk on my prosthetic legs ever again. Too much damage to the nerves in my legs, too much risk for infection. An ugly side effect of this wonderful disease that I live with. GRRR!
As long as there's any chance, I'm more than thrilled: I'm estatic!!
Got a beautiful e-mail from my friend Johnny Sandusky. He's doing better; he even wrote a book! (He'd better send me a copy when he gets them or else I'm gonna' be mad!!) I'm so happy! He's also breathing better since getting the trache tube put into his throat so he could breathe better, and his MD seems to have entered a holding pattern.
I am so happy to hear that; lately it's been giving him no end of trouble!
I have been praying long and hard for Johnny; Lord knows he needs all the prayer he can possibly get!!
Ronee' is doing great too: later on today (her time; it's still evening there in Tennessee, probably going on nine o'clock there; they're something like six hours behind us), she's going to try out for the show "America's Got Talent". This is her second attempt at it. Hopefully she'll do well enough to place!
I will be praying hard for Ronee', too. :)
Susie is doing good; she misses me not being there. I miss her too; it goes without saying: she's my bestest bud! I hate it when we're not together; we're too peas in a pod!
Mama is doing great: she's moving her arms more, she is able to pick up the babies without fear of dropping them. She's still a little weak; it's going to take time for her to get back to where she was prior to becoming paralyzed. It's not easy; however, if I know Mama, she's going to make it. She's very determined-like me! :) (Like mother, like daughter, as they say!)
Well, I am going to sleep; medication's starting to kick me in the seat of my pants. Plus I am starting to see two of everything; making me dizzy. I will write again when I can see more clearly and am not so fuzzy headed. Take care and Yeshua bless!
~Love, your friend, Rebekkah Rachel. :)
STUPID drugs!!! GRRR!!!!
