Dear Journal~

Hi! It's me, Ronee' Le-Anne! Hope this finds y'all well!

I'm currently at school, waiting for my school day to begin. Got here a bit early, so there you go. Time to kill, time to write in here before I go to my first class for the day. *Sigghhhh*

I'm doing great: no complaints, either with my health, or with school, or with the family. I'm as happy as a clam, no worries on my head! :)

We are getting ready to have our annual Easter Cantata at church. We have been rehearsing, practicing; we want to make sure that we get it down right, that there are no glitches, like there was last year: during the one production, Mack, who played Jesus, showed a little more than he planned to as he was "ascending into Heaven"; he had bright red underwear on. It was rather funny; I sure got a big laugh out of it!

I thought the poor pastor was going to stroke out! LOL

Hopefully nothing that "revealing" will happen this time around! Lord, I hope not! LOL

Maman had an interesting experience last week at work: she was working in the ER when a kid was brought in. It was discovered to be diphtheria, a very contageous childhood disease that struck terror in people. It causes the person to have difficult breathing and fever; as the toxins attack the lining of the throat, nasal passages, and airway, this false "membrane" forms, and the person can quickly go into a state of shock and/or strangulate to death.

The kid survived, thank goodness, but he had to have a tracheotomy in order to save his life, and he's now in the hospital, in isolation, recovering from the diphtheria.

Turns out that the kid and his dad were visiting from Pakistan; the kid didn't have his shots, so this is how he got the diphtheria.

Nice.

At least maman didn't get it! I'd be worried!! I've been watching her like a hawk, hoping she doesn't wake up with a cough or a sore throat!

This coming weekend is the time change. We "spring" an hour ahead until November; then we go back to the normal time. I hate these time changes; it throws my body into a panic, and then I have to work hard to get used to the time change!

Why can't we be like Indiana, where they don't even have daylight savings time?? It's always the same time, year 'round!!

The weather here is coolish; we had snow the other day, it's since about melted. Not much left except for some tired dirty spots on the road and a little still left banked against the north part of our house. We may get some more snow in a day or two; winter is not over just yet.

I'm ready for the spring; it's been a very cold (and snowy) winter here in the Tennessee Valley! I love the cold, but I love the warmer temperatures, and not lugging out the heavy winter clothing! I'm ready to "shed my skin", dress in something lighter, more springlike!

I also like spring because everything's coming back to life, and it isn't long before I have thoughts of summer (or S W I M M I N G!!)! I can't wait to jump into the pool again!!

Well, it's about time for me to go, bell fixin' to ring in a few minutes to signal the start of classes. I will write in here again soon! Take care and God bless you mightily!
