Dear Journal~

Sarah Wright here.  Enjoying the early-morning quietness; also listening to the radio to see if church services are cancelled due to all the snow we had the day before yesterday.

Crazy weatherman was calling for 1 inch of snow; we got a FOOT!!  Some inch! LOL We got buried!!  Now people are digging out, shoveling their driveways, cursing God for doing this nasty trick--and right before spring too! LOL

I rather enjoy the snow; I know the older kids do too.  Mwugu is just fascinated; he's really never experienced snow until he came to America from Africa.  And Rheese is probably wondering why the ground is all white, covered in cottony fluff. LOL

It was a powerful storm: it started out as rain, then changed over to sleet/freezing rain, and then finally snow.  There was even thunder and lightning with the storm; it was quite frightening, especially when the power flickered on and off.  Power never really did go completely off, but we sure could hear that wind howling! We were under winter storm warnings that eventually were changed to blizzard warnings.

It was very interesting!

Whoops!  Phone just rang; it was our pastor from our church calling.  No church today; roads still too treacherous outside.  So it looks like we're staying put.  Maybe we can have "church" here at home: break out the Bibles, pray, worship the Lord in song.  Wouldn't hurt; it's Sunday, after all...

Wayne's looking sleepily at me, wondering who called.  I told him it was Pastor Bilkey; he was calling to tell us church had been cancelled because of the snow.  "That's nice", he mumbles, then he rolls over, goes right back to sleep.  He looks so adorable when he sleeps: face all puffy, smashed into the pillow, hair sticking up all over; he looks just like a little boy!

Just noticed that the time change happened. Grr!! I hate this!! I don't see any good in it except for longer days and more headaches!! (And more charges on our electric bill!)  I wish they'd never invented daylight savings time; it's a waste, if you ask me!! Double GRRR!!!!

I thought it was six sixteen; it's seven sixteen, according to the clock by our bed!

Anything to mess us up even more! LOL

Oops! The girls are up; they are bouncing all over, wanting to go outside.  I tell them to wait, wait until daddy and I are up, and until we have our breakfast.  They are so full of energy; they're rarin' to go.  It looks like any chance of my going back to sleep has flown right out the window; time to get moving, Sarah!!

When our older daughter asks about what to wear for church, I tell her, "No church today, honey.  Church cancelled due to weather".  Today is a play day, I tell her; go back to bed, and we'll decide what to do later as a family.

Well, now the baby's crying, and Mwugu's singing again.  Time to get the ball rollin'; also have to get Wayne's meds ready,  cook breakfast, and take my shower, get dressed.  Another busy day ahead in the Wright household!  Except now I'll have to add shoveling snow to it; Wayne can't do it, so it's entirely up to me!!

*Sigh* A mother's work is never done; there's never enough hours in the day to accomplish what I have to in only twenty four hours!  Sheesh!
