I can't believe it, but it's true .
We're currently on an airplane, ready to wing our way to sunny Orlando, Florida. We will be there in a few hours if there's no unexpected hangups.
Hyman is excited, and so is Nashi. Nashi is sitting on my lap, cooing happily; she knows something big is about to happen, and she's excited as well.
Tovah and I are excited too: this is the first time we've been to DisneyWorld; we are going thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization which grants wishes for catastrophically ill or dying children.
We sent in the wish a year ago; seems they finally got around to it, decided to grant it, which has been a huge answer to prayer. We were in dire need of a break from all of Nashi's health troubles; we needed to get away.
Now it looks like that's about to come to pass.
I can hear the plane revving up; and as I look out the window, I see we are moving, picking up speed. We must be on the runway; won't be long now!
Nashi looks up at me with those huge dark brown eyes, questioning me as to what's going on. I tell her that it's okay; we're going to be in the sky, flying to see Mickey Mouse. That satisfies her; she snuggles in my lap, sighs contentedly. All is well with her world.
Hyman is bouncing up and down in his seat; Tovah tells him to settle. Now Nashi is wiggling; she's also making her happy noise, rather loudly, too, I might add: people closest to us are looking at us, wondering what's going on.
For the past week, Nashi's health is the best it's been in a long time: no unexpected emergencies, no unexpected hospital trips. Hope this continues; she's happier now than she has been in a long time. Guess the thought of going to Disneyworld has a lot to do with her sudden happy nature.
Whee!! We're in the sky; we've left the ground! The scene is tilting crazily, then evens out, as the plane streaks towards Florida! This is it!! We're on our way!!
How exciting!!
I will write again soon, tell you about our trip to Disneyworld! I don't know who's more excited: hubby, the kids, or myself!!
