A young boy comes to know the Lord and not to hide from life's difficulties
She was in an abusive relationship for 20 years and finally managed to escape years ago. Ruth became a strong Christian woman a few years back after she had emotionally been at her lowest point. Remembering what she had been taught in Church, she cried out to God to ask Jesus to save her. She told Mary of her testimony about her abuse, the effects of the abuse, and how she overcame all of the abuse. Then Mrs. Dent told Mary, "the Bible says that we are more than overcomers". Overtime my faith has grown stronger and stronger because I learned to trust in the Lord. There were times, however, that my faith has been tested and I even had nightmares about what has happened. But through it all, I know that God has been there for me."
Mary then asked Ruth if that is all. Mary wanted to know how to get that inner peace that Ruth has; she told her that to confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God died rose Jesus from the dead, then she will receive. She will receive that inner peace that she asked about. Later that night, Mary, while weeping, began to pray, "God, I want that inner peace that Mrs. Dent has. I want so much to have peace in my life and for the life of my daughter. I believe that You are real and that You do exist. I believe that Jesus is Lord and that He is your Son. I also believe that You rose Him from the dead. I ask for Jesus to save me. I need help Lord. I need help. I need strength. Save me, Lord. I need You in my life. I ask this in Jesus' name. I need you, Lord." Then suddenly an inner peace came over Mary, and she has not been the same person since.
She even became a witness to others at the shelter and everywhere she went. But she has had difficulties, such as an increasingly disobedient and angry daughter, illness, and stress due to the trauma she had been through. Mary prayed incessantly for Debbie, that she will come to know the Lord. That she will walk that narrow path; that she will be steered right. Her miracle came true when Debbie turned her life over to the Lord. She herself has not been the same since. She has sought counseling, and God, for her nightmares, her anger, her hatred, and for her depression. God has forgiven her and she realized that she herself must forgive, which was a lot harder to do. But over time, she eventually forgave her father, and her self.
