Dear Journal~
Louisiana here. I am not amused: according to the latest weather reports, we may be in for a rough ride later today and tonight: just west of here, there's a moderate risk of severe storms, including the threat of violent tornadoes.
Wondermous. Just what I did not want to hear! We've already had one round of severe weather back in February, and now they're calling for it again?? NOT good!! I don't do severe weather very well; anytime the sirens scream or the skies turn black, I turn a deeper shade of chicken! LOL
Living in the southland all my life has made me weather-wise. Having been through Hurricane Andrew (we were in Louisiana when it hit!), I'm like a mama hen trying to protect her brood. I hear the weather forecasts, and I'm in protection-mode. I herd the troops to the basement (to the safe room within); there we stay until the "all-clear" is given.
Bill is at work; I am at the house with the three youngest children. The others are at school; I expect them to be home early, especially if the weather starts lookin' nasty. That is what usually happens.
I took a personal day today; had too much to do: laundry, shopping for groceries, other errands. Just got the laundry put up, and got home from the store over an hour ago. Also had to get my hair done, go to the bank, and to the pharmacy, to pick up our prescriptions.
Tonight we will have our eyes, ears glued to the Weather Channel; we want to keep up to date with the latest watches/warnings. We have to in this part of the woods; the weather can go from calm to severe in only minutes, it seems, especially in the spring. Springtime here in the South is prime time for severe storms, and we can't be too careful; I have to do everything in my power to ensure my family's safety.
If y'all don't hear from me in a day or two, it's because we're waiting out the storms. Hopefully we will make it through the stormy period with little (or better yet no) damage. I will let y'all know how we get through the stormy period.
Until the storms pass on by, I'll keep off the computer; don't want to risk frying myself! If there's one thing y'all don't need, it's a fried Cajun! LOL So until I write again, take care and may God bless you mightily! Just keep us, the Sanduskys, in your prayers; we can use a break from all this potentially dangerous weather!!
