Johnny writes in his journal; he writes about the special music and message he heard at church today. He is deciding what to do in order to try to serve the Lord.

Sunday, April 13, 2008, 10:18 p.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Hey!  Johnny here!  Hope this finds y'all well; I'm doing great!

Today at church we had special guests all the way from Kenya, Africa.  Missionaries; their names were Bettye and Russell Otumbwe.  They were talking about their mission field, helping the Maasai people of East Africa, leading them towards Christ.  There was also special music from a children's choir; they were from Kenya.

Their message hit home; Ronee' is already thinking of entering missions when she gets older.  I may do the same; I would like to do all I can to try to lead people to Christ.  I don't know if I will ever get the opportunity to travel to places like Africa, but I can try to help people here--as long as my health holds out.

I can try to be a mentor to kids my age, let them know that I care for them, that I can pray for them.  Too many kids today are hurting; they don't know what they want in life, and too many of them are lost, without hope.

When I accepted Christ at the age of seven, I never imagined it would lead me to the point where I am at today.  I have seen people come to Christ because of something I did (like the Cantata), and it made me feel good to know I made a difference in their lives.

Now, I may not live to be an adult, but as long as I am still able to, I will do all I can to serve Jesus in the best way I know how, even if it's only by praying for people, or just trying to be a friend to them.

Jesus wants me to love people as He loves them, and I want to be a good example of what a Christian should be--or do in life.  I want to be like Jesus, and I want people to see Jesus whenever they look at me.

I have some choices to make.  That is, where do I want to go for missions, and what do I do to get involved in ministry?? I am already in the King's Kids Choir/Worship Team, and involved with ministering to the deaf members of our church.  What more can I do??  What would Jesus want me to do to further reach them, trying to spread the Good News to them in an effective way??

These are the things I've been thinking about since church this morning (and again this evening), and I feel God trying to tug at my heart.  I am going to have to listen to His voice very carefully; I don't want to make the wrong choices!

Well, I gotta go--school tomorrow.  I can think some more about this before I go to sleep.  Maybe God will reveal His answer to me upon my waking up tomorrow morning.  I can only hope! :)

Good night; talk to you another time!  This is Johnny signing out!

God bless!

~Love, your pal, Johnny. :D

Listening...that is the hard part... I know sometimes I don't always take the time to do that portion...

Karen, that is a beautiful picture. Because I'm an artist--I paint with watercolors--I am partial to the pictures that people post.

Also, your story should help parents to open their ears and hearts and pull out some strong morals and values to share wih their children because I truly believe your statement (following) touches on some valuable truths.

"Too many kids today are hurting; they don't know what they want in life, and too many of them are lost, without hope."
