Dear Journal~

Ronee' Le-Anne here.  Hope this finds y'all well and happy!

I know I just wrote in here a few days ago, but I hadda write again.  Too excited, I guess.  In just a little less than a week, we'll be headin' for Louisiana, where I will be singin' at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival!

Johnny is performing there, too; he's excited beyond belief, just like I am!

I always enjoy the Crawfish Festival.  This year, I'll be performing after Hunter Hayes and before Belton Richard.  They are two of my very favorite Cajun acts; they are among the best in my opinion!

During my set, I will be performing my usual Cajun fare; I will be doing some traditional country (aka Loretta Lynn and others); I'll also be yodeling and playing some of my instruments (mainly my accordion).  I hope the people will enjoy my music; it's what I do, and it's what makes me happiest! :)

After the Crawfish Festival, I'll be singin' at the CMA Music Festival, then fly out to Las Vegas, for my chance to win a spot on the televised portion of "America's Got Talent".  That means I'll be singing in front of the three judges (David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourne, and the "personable" Piers Morgan [who makes fellow Britainer Simon Cowell look like a sweetheart])! LOL  If I make it, great; if not, oh, well.  Guess I wasn't meant to be on that show.

No biggie. LOL

I can always go back to my Cajun music or my Loretta Lynn fare! LOL

Or maybe I'll just give up music altogether and become a hermit, live on coconut leaves and watercress.  EWWW!! LOL

Ever since findin' out I'll be singing at the Crawfish Fest, I've been in a weird mood.  I am really looking forward to it!!

My friends are, like, really jealous of me because I get to get started on my summer vacation.  To them it may be vacation, but to me it's work!!  It's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to make sure your show goes according to plan; so many things can go wrong when you least expect it, and if you screw up, you do it in front of God and everybody!! LOL

Once you do it, you can't go back to try to fix it; you just try to go on and pray you don't make an idiot outta yourself! LOL

I've been listening to some really old country stuff, songs I've really never heard (but fell in love with, nevertheless).  Songs like "Yes, Ma'am" (I think Leona Williams had a hit with it, her and some other people), "Once A Day" by Connie Smith, and others.  I've been trying to learn the words; maybe I'll do 'em at the Crawfish Fest or during any future appearances.

The only problem I have with traditional country is a lot of it is about cheatin' or drinkin'.  I don't think it's right for a kid like me to be singin' those kinda' songs.  I do like the songs though (particularly the melodies); and I've been known to sing "You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man".  People don't seem to have a problem with it, but it makes me feel rather embarrassed 'coz that's grownup stuff.  LOL

I'd rather sing songs like "Coal Miner's Daughter" or "Jesus Take The Wheel" or "God Bless America Again" because they're safe.  G-rated songs, no questionable material.  LOL

I wonder what would happen if I rapped or did a Whitney Houston song ("The Greatest Love of All").  People'd be really surprised, that's for sure!! LOL

Show my musical variety, show 'em I'm capable of doing anything.  I may be known as a Cajun or c/w singer, but I can do rock, rap, or gospel with no problem.

Well, I'm going to go.  Gotta get ready to go to my next class (Conversational Spanish).  I will write in here again, probably when I'm leavin' for the Crawfish Festival or when I'm already there.  Until later, take care and may God bless you mightily! C ya!
