Dear Journal~

Said I wouldn't write in here until a.) we left for Louisiana, or b.) we were already there, but I can't help myself.  I am way too excited; I only have two days of school this week, and it looks like we're gonna get an early start on our summer vacation!

I have been practicing my accordion and fiddle every day (an hour or two each time), and I have been learning some of the new songs I mentioned last time.  I plan on singin' them at the Crawfish Festival.

I am soooo looking forward to Louisiana, it's all I can think about.  I think of crawfish, of Cajun music, of dancing, and I can't help but to smile.  I love it there; it's like one of my favorite places to perform!!

I will be seeing Belton Richard, Hunter Hayes, Beausoleil, and Wayne Toups; they are among my favorite Cajun acts.  I get to be in the thick of it; am performing this Saturday night, between Hunter Hayes and Belton Richard.  I hope I do a good enough job; I don't want to screw up unexpectedly!

That's probably my biggest fear. Forgetting the words to a song, or playing the wrong note on my accordion, so everyone hears it.  YIKES!! Not good! LOL

All I can do is pray nobody laughs and then go on, like a trouper.  It's nothing to get uptight about! LOL

Nervous?  A little; It'd be stupid to say I wasn't.  The Crawfish Festival is a big deal, and all the top Cajun acts play there.  You'll never know who you'll run into there; that's what makes it so exciting!  The food is scrumptious, and I can't wait to get my mitts on that crawfish!! YUMMERS!! (drooling here!)

Well, I gotta get ready to go; church tonight.  I gotta get my mind in praise mode and off the Crawfish Festival.  Not easy to do, especially since I've been looking forward to it since, like, last year!! LOL  I'll write in here again, probably right before I perform or sometime during the weekend.  Take care and God bless!
