Dear Journal~

Johnathon here.  Hope this finds y'all well!  I am doing great!!  For one thing, in just a few days we're going to Louisiana for a crawfish festival, and I am really looking forward to it!!

Any excuse to get out of going to school is fine with me!  I was starting to get a little moldy for sitting in a hot, stuffy classroom all day!!

I'm also tired of doing homework nearly every night!

I will be performing at the crawfish festival.  I'm going to be playing my accordion, even doing some singing; I'll be performing with Belton Richard, one of the premier acts in Cajun music.  I am really excited about this!!  I just love that guy's music! 

If you really want to hear some traditional, old time Cajun music, you need to listen to Belton Richard!  He's great!

Another one I really like in Cajun music is Hunter Hayes, who is sixteen years old.  He's been performing since he was just two years old; that's fourteen years of his life where he's been making people smile with his natural, God-given talents as a singer/musician!

He's gonna be there, too. 

So's my sister, Ronee' Reaux.  She has her band, "Cajun Spice".  They're performing after Hunter Hayes and before Belton Richard.  She knows how to make a crowd groove with her music, too, even though she's not nearly as well known as Hunter Hayes or Belton Richard!

Besides all that Cajun music, I'll be porkin' out on Cajun grub.  Crawfish fixed any way you want (wonder if they have crawfish flavored beer?? EWWW! LOL), and enough Cajun food to choke a horse--maybe two! LOL

Another reason to enjoy the festival: EATING!! LOL

Well, yesterday, there was a tragedy at the Kentucky Derby.  This horse was about to cross the finish line when she went down.  Turns out she broke her front two legs.  They had to put her down right there, right in front of everyone. 

They even showed it on television; it was very upsetting.  I cried for that poor horse, and I cried for the fans who had to witness the accident firsthand.

I have never really cared for horse racing:  the jockeys work the horses too hard, and so many things can happen when you least expect them too.  I'd rather watch NASCAR or football anyway!

The weather here is sunny, really pretty out.  I have been outside; in fact, I'm sitting in my chair, in the backyard, at the picnic table, enjoying the feel of the warm breezes tickling my skin.  Low humidity, just perfect spring weather, with not one cloud in the sky.  Just bright, wall-to-wall sunshine: severe clear!! LOL

It may storm later this week, but we won't be home; we'll be headin' towards Louisiana, neener, neener, neener!! LOL  Hopefully the weather will be just as grand in Louisiana; there's nothing worse than wet crawfish--or wet people! LOL

Church was good tonight; we had games in the gym for the teens, and I played basketball for a half hour (just shooting it, trying to make baskets; missed every time, darn it!).  It got boring, so I wanted to go home, which I did.  Now I sit in the backyard, writing in this, this poor pitiful excuse for a journal! LOL

Well, I am going to get ready for bed; have to bathe, do my teeth, wash my face, have my mom dress me, put me to bed.  I have to be up by five tomorrow; if I want to be in top form for school, I'd best get my sleep, or else I'm sunk!
