Dear Journal~

Aaieee!! Laissez les bon temps rouler!!

This is  your Cajun gal pal, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, writing.  I am at the Crawfish Festival here in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, and it gets underway in just under an hour from now!

Tonight it's Wayne Toups and "ZydeCajun", Terrence Simien, and the piece de resistance, the creme de la creme of Cajun music, "BeauSoleil".  You can bet I'll be groovin' to the Cajun sound; I am so excited, I can hardly contain myself!

The smells of cookin' crawfish doesn't help any.  I am getting so hungry my throat's startin' to think my stomach's cut! LOL 

Tomorrow I will be performing; I'll be performing at five in the evening, before Johnny takes the stage.  I'll be on the stage for forty five minutes, max.  Hopefully I'll do well.  I plan on doing my usual Cajun fare ("Jambalaya", "Jole' Blon'", "Little Dark Eyed Cajun Girl", etc.), Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miner's Daughter", and other tunes.

Well, not just me, but my band, "Cajun Spice", who have been with me since I was seven.  We've grown up together, and they've turned into wonderful young musicians with marvelous personalities.  I am so lucky to have found the band I have; we work very well together!

I pray we do well!!  The sound of the audience yelling is enough to get our blood a pumpin', and it gets me all excited to get onto that stage!  I live for this, and it's my life!!

Well, not most important in my life, but it comes awfully close!  God's Number One in my life, but He's the one who gave me this gift, and I feel it is a privilege to share it with others! :)

This is why I does what I does. LOL

I just hope I can honor Him with what I do.  And maybe I can share my testimony with the festival crowd; any way to get The Message out there in a fun, interestin' way! :)

I watched "AI" last night at the hotel we stayed at; my guy David Archuleta is still in.  I hope he wins the competition; he's wonderful!!  Only a few years older than me, too, and has the voice of an angel!  I just love him! :) (Jason Castro of Rockwall, Texas, was the latest Idol castoff.  I liked him, but not as much as David Archuleta! :) )

The weather was bad when we got into Louisiana, but thankfully it's shoved on out of here.  We are supposed to have a beautiful weekend here in Breaux Bridge:  hot summertime temps (mid to upper 80's to near 90 degrees), sunny, not many clouds to be found.  Perfect for dancin', eatin', havin' a bon ton rouler!! AAIEEE!!

God's smilin' down on us here at the festival! :)  I guess even He wants us to have fun!

The family is fine:  they're in as much of a party mood as I am, and mama is in her glory.  This is her home; I wouldn't be surprised if she ran into a relative or two here!  Daddy is looking forward to the food/dancin' as well, and so are most of my brothers and sisters!

We got here in fine shape.  No breakdowns, no hanging buses, no medical emergencies.  Pray this continues!  We couldn't have asked for more ideal travel conditions!

A little rain on the way, but nothing serious.  Just enough to keep the windshield wipers hummin' and our speeds down somewhat, so we wouldn't hydroplane on the slick rain-soaked roads!

That would NOT have been good AT all!!

Well, we're gonna' get our grub faces on, eat at the Mulate's tent, have some of Mulate's famous Cajun fare.  I'm having red beans and rice as well as three bean salad and peaches for dessert.  Should be tasty!  Yummo!  My mouth is waterin' just thinkin' of it!  So before I drool all over, I'd best go now!  I will write again soon; take care and God bless you mightily!
