Much to her mother's delight, Suzanne has finally emerged from her lengthy coma.
Much as I can't believe what's happened, I am tickled pink at the latest development in my daughter's outcome.
As you know from previous entries, my daughter, my beautiful 19-year-old angel, was stricken with a brain aneurysm over one year ago. She's languished in a lengthy coma; doctors were uncertain as to whether she would ever wake up again. Now she's awake, becoming more aware of her surroundings, which has been nothing short of a miracle!
She woke up fully last week, and she's been trying to figure out where she is, who everyone is. She does know who I am: the day where she woke up, she saw my face, broke out in a huge smile, the first time I've seen her smile since this happened to her.
I think she recognized me, that I am her mother.
When I saw that beautiful smile, I broke down and cried; however, unlike the past times I've cried, this time was for joy. My daughter is starting to come back from her coma. Now while her future is still uncertain, the fact that she's emerged from the coma is a huge step forward; there's nowhere to go but forward, try to get her back to where she was prior to the aneurysm.
If she could walk or talk again, that would be a major answer to prayer! We have our church praying, rallying around her, and we've come this far; we are not going to look back! God has something major in store for Suzanne, and we are excited to see just what that will be!
I will keep in touch regarding her prognosis, her continuing period of recovery! You haven't heard the last of Suzanne's story just yet!!
Suzanne's situation is living proof of God DOES exist, and that with Him, all things ARE possible!!
I'm so happy these days it's all I can do to keep from crying!!
Thats wonderful, with the Lord anything is possible, the fact that you and I are here for such a time is this is certainly proof of that, thank you for sharing.

Karen, I am so happy for you. I can't imagine the exhiliration you must feel after finally getting over such a tragedy. If we wait long enough, and sometimes that's forever, God comes across.
Now she's awake, becoming more aware of her surroundings, which has been nothing short of a miracle!

Definitely these are the words a mother feels when her son/daughter has made such a huge leap in regards to the medical world. So often parents are told there is no hope for a full recovery, well with Suzanne's church and family rallying behind her she can only go up. A most inspiring write my friend! Keep up the great work!

Very touching story. I really hope Suzanne comes through this trial rejuvenated.
Inspirational and angelic, perhaps Suzanne's coma will constitute the rest of her life as a Point of Light to guide others in their determination and will to live. A miracle is always well worth writing about. Thanks for the continued story today, Karen Lynn.
