Tears of joy will stream down their faces,

Have you ever been happy to tears?
To the place you wanted to cry?
I encourage you, never let,
Those moments pass you by.
It happens in a flash
Quite unexpectedly,
All your emotions crash
Into a puddle of glee.
Tears flow uncontrollably
Happiness in every stream
Until there is nothing left
But radiance in your beam.
You want to tell the world
What happened on your day
So, you wait oh so patiently for
timeless moments to portray.

“Mom, did you get a package today?” my son exclaimed over the phone. “Not that I can see right now”came my weak reply. “Mom, look on the screened porch and at my old end of the house” Chris urgently replied. I’m diligently searching now from one end of the house to the other and then I saw my husband out in the yard, so, I asked him, “Have you seen a box?” “Oh yeah, there’s one in the office. I found it yesterday,” he said nonchalantly.
I stepped back inside and there it was—a lightweight oblong box like the ones you see only on television. You know, the ones wrapped in a big bow and almost always containing long stem roses; The only visible difference was that, this box was not wrapped with a bow. The contents however, were right in line with what you’d expect to see on television—long stemmed multi-colored roses.
My first response was a smile but then as the weight of the moment began to settle into my heart and mind, the impact hit me. I had to pass my cell phone off to my granddaughter to chat further with her daddy. This only happens to other people and usually on television, I thought. And yet, here I was, seeing and experiencing this moment in real life. I was hopelessly overwhelmed.
You see, the reality was that someone very dear to my heart loved me enough to take the time out of his busy schedule to send flowers on Mother’s Day. What an incredible blessing! I was absolutely ‘happy to tears’, thoroughly enjoying the moment, the treasure of tears and laughter in my heart combined. The joy that I felt was insurmountable. I closed my eyes and silently thanked God for the privilege, the honor and the gift of bearing a son—a wonderful son with the warmth in his heart and the ability to bring this much joy to another.
