Cindy Lou Snyder here.
Sorry for not writing, but we haven't been home in over a month. Our house was destroyed by the recent bout of tornadoes that continue to plague our region. We had more tornadoes yesterday, and we may have more today. Just the news we don't want to hear!
Our family is fine, but Eternity hasn't been sleeping all that well--none of us have. Every time we see the skies turn black (or green) or hear the news that we may be in for more severe weather, we're like, "Not again!" We're all a little shellshocked, and seeing that Eternity is disabled, well, I worry more about her than the average child.
Healthwise, Eternity has been okay since her last surgery, but she still isn't well. She is still prone to kidney infections; she just got over her latest one several weeks ago, and it's left her tired, pale, and weakened. She's just now regaining lost strength, and I've been keeping a very close eye on her.
Eternity fell last week; fell over her crutches. Bloodied her chin and lip; had to take her to the emergency room to get patched up. She now has a bandaid on her chin; she wears it like a trophy. She's proud of her battle scars; she isn't down for long!
In just a little over two months from now, Eternity will be eight years old. Hard to believe that in only a few short years she'll be a preteen. Right now she is a little girl, and I wish I could keep her little forever. She is such a delightful child, and I would bend over backwards for her, to make sure she is happy, has everything she can possibly need in life!
Right now, while our house is being repaired, we're staying with relatives in Tulsa. We've enjoyed our "mini-vacation" if you will, but it's no way to spend time away; we've had more than our share of bad weather, and all of us are on edge. Poor Eternity can't sleep; she has frequent nightmares; when the tornado sirens go off, she's in my arms, quaking in terror, and then I feel bad for her because I don't think I'm doing a good enough job in protecting her.
Well, the sky is full of lightning to the west (plus I hear thunder in the distance); have to get off of here before the storms move back in. Hope they aren't as bad as they've been lately; we're severe'ed out!! We're more than ready for this stormy pattern to end; I've had it with tornadoes and stormy weather!!
Oh, to see sunshine and clear skies again!!
I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Cindy Lou, Eternity's mom, signing off! God bless!
