Trials and Tribulations

Trials and Tribulations is a piece about accepting the fact that everyone has trials and tribulations. Also learning how to go through them, get through them and be okay.

One day I woke up and suddenly realized that now, I get it! Get what you ask? Well, I'm going to tell you what. All of my life I've always wondered why do I have to go through trials and tribulations? Why do I have to suffer? But I never did receive the answer. For years I thought this, for years I prayed about this. I would even have long, drawn out discussions about this with my evangelistic mother; and it seems as though whenever we would discuss this topic she had to bring up the one name in the bible that I cringe and mostly feel sad about when I hear it. That name is none other than Job. Yes! You heard me right, Job! Don't even get me started on Job. (That will be another story) but for now we'll just stick to this.

But really to this day it's still not one of my favorites. But I digress, anyway my mother said to me, "Job suffered, I suffered, everyone suffers and I no longer want to have this conversation with you because you just don't get it. And we just can't keep going back and forth about this. Who are you to suffer little when God himself suffered much greater? You are no better than him, so you are bound to go through some things, sometime it will be inevitable."

I got it!!!

As time passed on one day I woke up and realized that I get it! And I believe God gave it to me like that because, I was ready to receive it. The creator, the visionary, he who gave his only begotten son. If that wasn't a trial within itself I don't know what is. So just like my mother said, "You are no better than him." And she is right. So, who am I not to endure all on this earth that he would like me to. So, I got it!!!

I get it!!! Do you?

For as long as God will allow me to be in existence it is understood that I will always encounter and endure many trials and tribulations; but as long as I can call upon him, praise him, it is guaranteed that everything will be okay. You see, things may not always work out the way you want it to but it works out the way God wants it to. And let's be real people - God don't make no mistakes! As long as you and him have an understanding everything will be all right.

Bottom Line: I get it. Do you?
