Dear Journal~

Johnathon here.  Just woke up not even fifteen minutes ago; let me get my brain in gear before I continue any further with this...

Had a good day yesterday:  went swimming (such as it is; don't swim as well as I used to; need more help), then played some video games while drying off.  I also watched over my littler brothers and sisters; they behaved pretty well, but I can think of better things to do than to watch a herd of little kids all the livelong day! LOL

Heard from my sissie Ronee':  she did not make it at her audition, which really made me mad.  She tried so hard; yet the stupid judges picked a four year old over my sister.  NOT fair!!!!  Was the four year old THAT good?? (Somehow I doubt it; have you ever heard a four year old sing??)

Ronee' and daddy are due back sometime this afternoon.  We will probably go to the airport to meet them, then go out to eat at the Olive Garden.  That's the plan, anyway.  Somehow something always happens to change plans; we sometimes end up eating somewhere else.  I will be glad to see them; I miss them when they're not here.

Nothing much planned except the Fourth of July BLAST! here in downtown Nashville; performing there (as is Ronee').  I always look forward to that; you never know who is going to show up, entertain the people.  Also the fireworks are among the best in the nation; they last a good thirty-forty five minutes in length, much longer than most firework displays.  The fireworks are the best!!

After the Fourth of July BLAST! , we will go to LeCajun and maybe Cedar Point; right now, Cedar Point is looking pretty iffy.  With these gas prices on the upswing, we may end up staying home.  I am so disappointed; I was looking forward to going to Cedar Point; I love that place!!

I hope something happens to where we can still go to Cedar Point!!

A lot of families (including ours) have had to make changes to try to cope with these rising prices.  Mama and daddy have had to start buying in bulk (cheaper that way; and with our family, you need to!! LOL), and they have been working more hours at their jobs.  Daddy working from six to six most days at Wal*Mart, even has had to work some weekends (Saturdays mainly, some Sundays, which screws up church plans).

Mama works at least eighty-100 hours a week at the hospital, she has had to work some weekends, too.  They have to in order to be able to pay the bills, buy the food/gas.

That's why mama or daddy don't write in their journals as much as they used to; they are working all the time!!

Now, mama is off work today, so at least she can watch out over us before we leave for the airport!

The weather here is sunny; we may get some rain later, including the threat of severe (mostly large hail, damaging downburst winds, frequent lightning, maybe a brief tornado).  Hope not; when those sirens wail, I am not exactly Speedy Gonzales; need a little help to get to the shelter!!

The last time we had severe weather, we had a big ol' shelf cloud go overhead; looked like the Mother Ship.  Scary!!  I thought for sure we were going to buy the farm!!
