Jenna Aurora Doucet writes in her journal prior to rising to start another day.

Weds., June 25, 2008, Anchorage, Alaska, 7:10 a.m.~

Dear Journal~

Howdy from the Great White (okay, not so white) northland!  This is Jenna Doucet writing; hope this finds y'all well and happy!

I am doing well:  just woke up not even fifteen minutes ago:  eyes still glued together, hair all askew, body stiffened, got to get those ol' juices flowin'...Michael, my dear husband, meanwhile, is, I'm sure, snoring logs, and the babies are still asleep in the crib, rears stuck straight up in the air.  They look absolutely adorABle!

My husband was off work last night; he's become a fan of the show "America's Got Talent".  It started a week ago; had the second showing last night.  They had some awesome freestyle dancers on there from New Orleans, Louisiana; they were nothing short of incredible!  The audience (not to mention, the judges) were on their feet; they were that good!

No, they were better than good:  they were spectacular!!

Last week, they had a little four year old girl on there.  I guess she did okay because she went through to the next round; however, I am sure if you hear one four year old sing, you've probably heard them all.  They also had a guy singing opera, and he advanced as well.

I don't know if I could ever do something like that:  sing or dance in front of people.  I am deaf; I don't talk, so it's hard to sing when I can't talk! LOL  I also am paralyzed on one side; kinda hard to dance when I can only move one arm or leg!! LOL  I'd get buzzed right off the stage!!

Of course, since Michael was watching the show, I was watching it too; I gather some of the acts were bad because there was an awful lot of buzzing going on!!  Glad I couldn't hear the bad acts; they'd probably make my hearing aids squeal for mercy!! LOL

Michael is still working hard at the bar:  works most nights, really works on the weekends, makes a pile of money in tips.  He is very good at what he does.  Meanwhile, I stay at home, play housewife to two active little boys, one a tot, the other, several months old.  I also care for a rambunctious cat and a mischevious dog to add to the mix; my life here at home is never dull, even for a moment!

I am still writing in my journal, too, between taking care of the house, husband, kids.  I really have an exciting life--NOT!!  I am usually home; if not, I'm at different doctor's appointments, or I'm out doing errands (husband and kids in tow).  Can't work, so I draw a SSDI check every month; it helps, but it's not nearly enough sometimes.  This is when I am glad to have church and/or friends to help out whenever we need it the most!

Heard from Louie Sandusky a while back--STILL have to write to her.  She must think I went to my grave!  I just have been so busy; I don't hardly have time to even go to the bathroom by myself without being interrupted somehow!!

Louie is fine; working hard at her job, raising her family.  Her daughter went to try out for "AGT"; she didn't make it.  Got nervous, got pitchy; was denied a trip to Las Vegas for the semifinals.  I am sure Ronee' must be so disappointed; I would be if I were her!!  She's worked so hard!!

Johnny is doing well too:  he's been performing more himself; he didn't audition for "AGT", but he did sing at the Crawfish Festival in Louisiana, also performed at the CMA Music Festival; heard that he brought the house down.  He is really becoming quite the young performer; he doesn't let his having muscular dystrophy get in the way of his dreams!  The kid is absolutely unbelievable!!

Well, seems that Mattaq is up; he's looking at me, blinking sleepily.  He looks like a baby polar bear--with black hair.  He looks absolutely precious beyond words!  I will have to tend to him, as well as his brother; it won't be long before Kenai wakes up from dreamland himself.  On that note, I will go for now; will write in here again soon.  Take care and may God bless you always!

~Love, your friend in Alaska, Jenna Aurora Doucet. :)

P.S.:  The picture?  That was supposed to be our cat, "Hisser".  She was washing herself, looking all adorABle.  I missed! LOL Am not so good with the camera.  Silly me!! LOLOLOL

I enjoyed your story. Nice write. Seems "America's Got Talent" is a big hit with young people--and adults alike. Maybe one of these days I'll have to watch one of those talent shows.

Cute picture and write. The cat in the picture looks like one of my daughter's kitties, Elaine! Enjoyed the read!
