Eternity Snyder's family moves to another town after a tornado destroyed the house they were living in; they are all adjusting to the changes in their lives.

Hello.  This is Cindy Lou Snyder.  Eternity's mom.  I hope this finds y'all well.

We are moved in to our new house; we now live in Pryor, Oklahoma.  A tornado destroyed the house we had back in Ponca City; we had no choice but to leave.

As you can imagine, the damage to our nerves has been horrendous.  We are all plagued with nightmares; we lost everything we had but the clothes on our back.  It could have been so much worse; thank God nobody lost their lives in the twister.  A home can be replaced; a human life cannot.  We have to keep reminding ourselves of that.

Eternity has been doing okay physically since her last surgery; however, her mental state has been altered.  She has nightmares about tornadoes nearly every night:  it isn't uncommon for her to rip out a bloodcurdling yell in the middle of the night, scaring us all halfway to death; then it is up to me to try to pacify her, quell her fears.

It's a neverending battle.

Now whenever it storms, Eternity has a panic attack; sometimes it's gotten so bad we've had to go to the Emergency Room, so she can get a sedative to calm her down.  It's really been bad.  I'm not in much better shape;  every time the skies turn black or there is even the mere mention of severe weather in the forecast, I turn a deeper shade of chicken as I like to say (and it's true ; I DO!).

Anyway, we now live in Pryor.  It's a whole new area; we are still navigating our way aound, learning what's available, not only for me, but for Eternity's sake.

We are getting to know the neighbors; but I'm not so sure about our next door neighbors on the right of us:  there are 11 people living in the house (all are Mexican; guess they're part of one family or something), and there's trash (paper, broken beer bottles, empty beer or soda cans, cigarette butts, etc.) littering the yard; plus they don't speak English.  It's very frustrating to try to talk to them about the noise or the mess they are causing.

They really don't cause us any trouble, but I've had to call the police twice on our neighbors because the music's been keeping us awake in the middle of the night, or else we hear people yelling in Spanish; I know they must be arguing (or God knows what else).  It's really scary!

Well, Eternity is up now, so I will go.  I will write in here again another time; hopefully thiings will continue to settle down.  I just pray that something can be done about the people next door to us; they are beginning to get on my last nerve!!  Take care and talk to you again!

~Love, your friend, Cindy Lou Snyder, mom to Eternity. :(

I wouldn't want to be around Tornados or noisy neighbors, For ou have to respect others. That don't mean you can't enjoy life as I do and I love my music. Thank you for sharing.

As I read and review tonight, severe thunderstorms are rocking the mountains with loud thunder and rain, rain, rain!!!! It's been an extra long season for these storms, we're blessed that they've not been any worse than they have, I know other areas that have suffered far more than we have! A great write my friend, very descriptive, and realistic as well! I had a student last year who so scared when thunderstorms come up due to a previous experience in a tornadoe, makes one feel helpless....great write!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Karen,

This country has been so much lately by tornados and whatever storms it throws our way. I hate to be a bigot because I do have wonderful Mexican friends. But I remember when I visited my mother, all they did was play Marachi music, and party all night long.
Great write.

Mary
