Message of the Day

Story taken from the book, "The Voices Within Us" by Jim Stewart

One night I was reading a book and feeling a little depressed, when I received a message from my "Messangers." "Tomorrow you will receive a message  and it will contain a message for you." I wondered what the message might be and then I went off to sleep.

The next morning, all the way to work, I wondered about this message. Shortly after arriving at work, I went to the chapel to recite my morning prayers. When I opened the door to the prayer room, there it was -- My Message! There was a single sheet of paper with two poems on it. I started to read them. My gosh, here is my message.

Below you find a copy of one of these poems.

Sometimes I feel very blessed to have the gift of communication with my messangers telling me where to go and what to do. Sometimes these messages hurt; but they are always true .

I hope this poem inspires you as much as it did me.

I asked for strength

And God gave me difficulties.

I asked for wisedom

And God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for prosperity

And God gave me a brain and brawn to work.

I asked for courage

And God gave me danger to overcome.

I asked for love

And God gave me troubled people to help.

I asked for favors

And God gave me opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted

But everything I needed.
