Nathan Lake here.  The kid people have called "The Creature".

Hope you are well; me, I couldn't be better!  God continues to work miracles in my life.  Oh, I didn't get healed, get a new face (nothing THAT major, though it would be nice!), but things have been progressing nicely.

When I thought I would never have any friends on account of my freaky face, I suddenly find myself with a whole army of friends. 

There's this girl at church, Ronee', Ronee' Reaux, who has been really sweet on me.  She may already have a boyfriend in a kid called Stinko (can't remember his real name, but that's what he's known by); Stinko has the hots for her.  Fact is, most boys that know her do:  Ronee' is cute, has a great body (built in all the right places), a great attitude, has an unbelievable singing talent, and a charming personality.  All the things I'd want in a girlfriend.  Maybe she'll dump Stinko, go with me instead.  I can only wish....*sighhhhh*

I also have a very good friend in her brother, Johnathon.  I didn't know they were brother and sister (they look absolutely nothing alike) until someone told me.  They're adopted; that's why they're brother and sister although they couldn't look more different.  Johnny is a very nice kid, but I feel sorry for him:  kid's in a wheelchair, has to have a trache in order to breathe; he has muscular dystrophy, and he's dying.  It's really sad.

Johnny, however, sees life to the full, grabs it by the horns, doesn't let it get him down.  He's one of the happiest kids I know.  I don't know how he does it, but he does--and does it extremely well!

There are other kids who have came up to me, asking me to be a friend, but Johnny and Ronee' are two that stick out the most; they are the two I remember the most.

I have been enjoying church.  Even got my folks going; they haven't committed themselves to Christ yet, but I think they're working on it.  They want to go up to the altar during altar call; they just haven't done it yet.  Guess they're too embarrassed about doing it, right in front of everyone; yet there's me, going, "Go ON, already!!" LOL

I go to Christ Community Assembly of God here in Nashville; have a great pastor, and an awesome worship team (make that TEAMS).  I'm in the children's choir; sing tenor.  LOVE it.  Fun getting up there on the platform every week, witnessing to the Lord, worshiping Him, as He deserves all praise and honor!  I love making the people happy with my singing!

If I could be halfway good of a singer as, say Johnathon or Ronee', I'd have it made in SPADES! LOL  Now those two CAN sing!!!!!

Fact is, we have church tonight.  I love it; great things have been happening!  We've gotten more members, and they're talking about adding to the building, as our family's gotten so big.  We're not talkin' 10, 000 or 20,000-seat sanctuaries, but we do  have nearly 1,000 members now in our church body, and our current building is getting a bit cramped, if you know what I mean. 

I love it whenever we have revival or special programs; seems to bring in the masses, and we must be doing something right because those who've joined have stayed.  Now, some  have moved on, but most have remained.  I know quite a few people at church, and I've made a lot of wonderful friends.

Well, I gotta run.  Have a doctor's appointment at ten; have to shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, take my pills (am on antibiotics; had an ear infection about a month ago, right after school let out; it was a killer!!), then wait for my folks to get up.  Hopefully they'll get up in time to run me to Dr. Emmons' office; I'd hate to miss my appointment!  Take care, and may God bless you as much as He's been blessin' me lately!
