Cindy Lou Snyder writing. Hope this finds y'all well, happy.
Me, I'm hangin' in there. Still dealing with our noisy neighbors, trying to put up with their music blasting at all hours of the day, trying to deal with their limited use of the English language. Oh, they're not really too bad; it's just I have a problem with them not learning our language while living here in America.
Don't know if they work or not; seems that they don't. On the weekends, all the males do is sit outside, try to sing along with the conjunto music playing on their boombox, or drink cervesa (beer) until they are nearly falling-down drunk. It's really kind of sad, if you think about it.
The woman that lives there (I think it's the wife to one of the men) is sweet; she knows a little more in the way of English than the men (though not much), but she still tries to talk to me in the best way she can. Her name's Rosita; she has three ninos (children), ages 13 (Rowena-Graciela), 10 (Pablo), and two (Guillermo Miguel). She works cleaning houses for a living; this is how she provides for her large family.
The husband (Tomaso) can't work: he has serious health problems. Don't know exactly what, but he walks on a cane, and he shakes like a palsied old man. I feel sorry for him.
I guess the only thing he can do is sit around, listen to music, or drink beer--I guess to deal with his own infirmities.
Anyway, this should be about Eternity, not my neighbors. Eternity is doing quite well, better than what her doctors (or I) expected. She's about all recovered from her last surgery, and she hasn't had any more complications. She is getting around really well now on her crutches and braces. I am so proud of her!!
She's passed her schooling; she will be going into the fourth grade in September. She is very smart, much smarter than me. Don't know where she got the brains; she did NOT get 'em from me; I'm about as dumb as a post! LOL
Eternity is enjoying vacation bible school, which started on Monday. She goes until Friday; it runs from 9 a.m. until noon at the church we go to. She's been having a lot of fun seeing her friends, playing games, singing songs about Jesus. Eternity accepted Jesus into her heart when she was six; she really has blossomed as a Christian, and whenever people see her, they see Christ in her eyes, on her face. She literally glows with life!
We go to a Baptist church not far from where we live; we love it. Have been going there two weeks now; the congregation (not to mention the pastor) have welcomed us with open arms. It feels so nice to be loved, so needed!
Well, Rosita is calling me; she wants me to go with her to the store. I will go for now; until later, take care and may God bless!
~Love, your friend (and Eternity's mom), Cindy Lou. :D
