Hey! Hope this finds y'all well and happy. Me, I ain't worth a flip. Haven't been able to work since about four weeks ago, when I fell over a kid and busted my leg. Broke it slap in three places; boy, when I do it, I do it good!
Marlayne Goodwrench here. I was doing great, but then I fell over that kid, and now I'm laid up. Had surgery on my leg once, may need another surgery; there's no telling when I will be able to return to work. I am so bored, so tired of staying home, I am about to go mad!!
Until I see Dr. Painter, I'm to stay put here at the house with nobody but "Winston" (he's my furry buddy) to keep me company. I spend my days reading, sleeping, writing on the computer, or e-mailing my co-workers or friends, to let them know how I'm progressing in my recovery.
It's really been a bad time for me.
I can't even get to church without it being a big production. Oh, Dr. Painter says I can go to church, but I have to use the wheelchair. No kidding. I couldn't walk now if my life (my leg) depended on it!!
That's going to pack on the pounds. I already feel heavier; I look at food, and I swear my body goes into hyperdrive! LOL
Time to break out the rabbit food again, folks! Back to the diet regimen....*sighhhhhhh*
I have been e-mailing a lady who was my nurse when I was in the hospital a while back, Louisiana Sandusky. She is still there at Nashville Memorial Hospital; has been there for over nine years now; she's very good at what she does. Works a lot of hours, too; she has to in order to feed that mob that she calls a family! LOL
I swear she's trying to get into the Guiness Book of World Records for most kids adopted! LOL She has 63 kids now; seems like a million. You see 'em, and you wonder if the line is ever going to end! LOLOLOLOL
Another one who may give her a run for her money is Kendra Kent, who has over 30 kids now. Like the Sanduskys, most of the kids she has are disabled in one way or another, and they come from all over. She is disabled herself; was born with spina bifida, uses a wheelchair; never has let that stop her. She is incredible!
I wish I could adopt, but the place I live at currently is too small; and they won't allow kids on the property, so that cancels that. I guess I can adopt a kid whenever I get to konw them, even if only in my heart. I have met many wonderful kids at the school I work at, and if I could, I would take them ALL home with me! :)
The weather is pretty out: sunny, not too terribly warm, just about perfect. I don't do the heat thing; it is too hard on my breathing. Have asthma, allergies, have to be extremely careful, especially if there's a lot of allergens in the air or if the air quality's bad. When it's like this, I would just rather stay in, play it safe.
Well, I am going to go: my darned leg is paining me again; have to lie down and rest. I will write in here again another day. Until then, this is Marlayne Goodwrench (plus "Winston") signing off! Take care and God bless!
