Kathrine McComb here.  Just woke up not even fifteen minutes ago, so if this is riddled with mistakes, you'll have to excuse me.  I'm not awake yet.  LOL

I told mama I don't want to compete in pageants anymore.  I have had it.  Mama was sorry that I wasn't happy, but she decided my happiness was important, so she pulled me out of the pageant circuit, which is the best thing she could have done.  Now I have time to act like a normal kid!!

Ever since, I've been doing my own thing, spending time with "Squibbie", my kitty, and my bratty brother Morgan David (he's six; he's got Down's, and he thinks he can get away with murder, which he usually does!), swimming, and talking on the phone.  It's been nice!  No more rising early in the morning to get ready for pageant competition, no more long hours spent practicing or preparing, no more dressing up fancy.  I love it!! 

Mama says the change in me has been extraordinary. 

When I wrote last time, I think I forgot to mention what I like to do.  Well, I like to go to church on Sundays, read (I love "American Girl"!), draw, write stories, spend time with Brandy, my friend (when she's not competing; she's still in pageants), talk on the phone, swimming, and watch "America's Got Talent" or "Opry Live!" on tv.  I have a busy life, especially now that I don't do pageants anymore.

I'll be going into the sixth grade in the fall.  I'll still be going to Sausolito Elementary.  It will be my last year there, which will make me sad because next year I start junior high, which absolutely terrifies me!!

The weather here has been hot, dry.  There's the ever present threat of fire around; sometimes you can see the haze from the smoke or smell it in the air.  It's scary; I don't like fire season, especially when the fires get close.  I'm always scared we're going to burn up or lose our house; I don't want to think about that!!!!

I'll be sooo glad when monsoon season starts up again!!  (But then you'll have to worry about things like mudslides or flash flooding.  Not good!!)

P.S.:  My kitty looks just like the one in the picture, excepting he's all one color (a grey/blue).  I couldn't find a picture of a kittycat that looked just like him, so I used this one instead.  He's so sweet; I just LOVE my "Squibbers"!!
