Dear Journal~
Kat here. I just woke up about a half hour ago; still trying to get my bearings together, my brain halfway awake.
Hubby is in the shower, singing up a storm; he isn't a bad singer, but I have a migraine headache; don't NEED his caterwauling to make it worse!! O, ye' yaie!!
Kitty and puppy are joining in the fray, really good for my head--NOT!!
Such as life here at the Delchamps-Hammer household...LOL
I may have a migraine, but I have to work. If it gets any worse, I'm going to see if Frank will let me go home early, so I can crawl into bed, cover my head, so the darkness can surround me.
And let the "kids" comfort me, as only they can. Somehow, having those warm, furry bodies always makes me feel better.
The weather here is partly cloudy, coolish, temps in the sixties, seventies. Really delightful; might as well enjoy them because starting the middle of next month, temps will start cooling off. Summers don't last that long here; I'm not looking forward to winter!! Winters here in Alaska, although pretty, can get brutal!! This is when I keep wishing I had the hot, Cajun humidity of South Louisiana!! Somehow, 90- to 100- plus temperatures sound kind of nice right now!
I'm definitely starting to show. I have a very nice baby belly; people can definitely tell that I'm with child. People will stop me, say, "Oh, you're having a baby?" No, I'm having a watermelon!! What do they think?? I tell ya, some people can be so stupid!!
Frank, as you can imagine, is absolutely glowing, walking around, chest puffed out like a proud rooster. He is really looking forward to the birth; frankly, so am I! I just wonder what I'm going to do when I can't get around because my belly will be bigger than big!!
I'm sure Frank will figure it out; somehow he always does. He's one of the most resourceful men I've ever met!
Maybe he'll need to wheel me around via wheelbarrow! LOL
Heard from Sikik, finally: she's been sick. Her MS has worsened, and she's more or less homebound. She's not bedridden, but she falls so much. One of her sisters has been staying with her, helping her out. I will have to say a special prayer of healing for her.
Heard, too, from Jenna Doucet in Anchorage. She and her family are donig well, too, much better than Sikik. She's expecting too; I think she's having a little girl.
Well, Frank's out of the shower; it's my turn to get ready. I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Kat saying so long for now! God bless!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your Alaskan Cajun friend, Kat. :D
