Dear Journal~
G'day, mate! Ain't this a ripper?? Me, nearly pullin' me hair out by the roots; it's been nothin' but sheer bedlam around these parts!
In only a few short weeks, Tottie, me bride, me honey, and myself are going to be joined in holy matrimony; we will soon be husband and wife. Seems that the months have flown by; one minute, I just proposed to her; now our wedding is staring right at us, at point blank, in our bloody faces!
We have been runnin' our arses off, tryin' to get things in orderly fashion. Not easy, plannin' a wedding!! Gotta make sure all the last minute details are worked out, find out who's coming, who won't be able to come, make sure we have the appropro music, cake, supplies, etc. Talk about your built in fear factor!! LOL
Tottie and myself have been doing just great. Tottie is getting more beautiful with each passing day; she is my world. I would bend over backwards to ensure that she has all that she can possibly need in life. I am still working with the special-needs kids; I guess having a disabled wife has allowed me to give me patience with them, well, not only them, per se, but also with me autistic brother, Teague.
He can be a handful at times!
Mum and Da have fallen in love with Tottie; I don't blame them, really. Tottie is a lot of fun, and she really don't let her having one leg stop her. She swims, she snorkels, she runs, she even dances. If she don't have her leg on, she does it on her crutches. She's one of the most free spirited people I have ever met!
Another big thing in our life is that Tottie and me, we have started going to church. We've both accepted Jesus Christ into our hearts, and we are enjoying learning more about Him, more about the Holy Bible. Suddenly, things like drinkin', partyin', or just misbehaving (HA) don't mean a thing to us anymore; our lives suddenly have purpose and meaning.
It's now warming up here. Summer will be here in only a few short months; I pray we don't have another bad year of storms or drought; fires have been bad the last several years here, as have the weather. It seems the storms are getting nastier, meaner, more frightening; when I was a little nipper, I had never seen a tornado except in picture books; last year I saw four. And two of them were almost in our backyard; it was beyond terrifying!!
Thank God no damage from the twisters, but now I have nightmares about twisters ravaging our house. I don't know how I'd be able to handle that! If anything were to happen to me or Tottie, I don't think I'd ever forgive meself!
We'd had a run in with funnel webs (spiders; they're commonplace here around Sydney), but thank God Tottie managed to keep from getting bitten. I see one now, and I panic, I absolutely go bonkers out of me skull. If there's one thing I hate it's spiders, especially since Tottie herself has been bitten by one; she got extremely sick. I thought she was going to die!
Now the funnels have moved on out (thanks to an expert pest control service we use); I pray they don't come back!
Tottie sees a funnel, and she tries to climb me like a blasted tree!! It's not fun!!
Tottie and I would love to start a family. If we can't have a child, we'll adopt. We'll adopt a child or two with special needs; we feel we would be qualified to do something like this. Her friend back in the States, Louie Sandusky, has done this, and now she and her husband, Bill, have over sixty kids, most adopted--and most with some type of disability. They're really incredible!
I wonder how they are doing; been a while since we heard from them last...
Well, Tottie's calling me; seems that there's a spider in the tub, and she wants me to dispose of it. Why do I have to do it; all she has to do is take her shoe, whack the s** out of the bugger, and kill it! Or take her leg off and just whale the livin' tar out of him! That'd do the trick! I will write in here again (hopefully before our wedding or just afterwards); sorry for not writing in so long. Now you know why I haven't. Been incredibly busy as all get out!
