Marlayne Goodwrench continues to make strides in her recovery from a broken leg and surgery; her mood is much better than her last entry. She is now able to get about, has returned to work part time.

Tuesday, July 12, 2008, 4:36 a.m., D.S.T., Nashville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Woke up not even fifteen minutes ago.  Was asleep, but eyes popped open, and once that happens, you might as well forget about going back to sleep, at least it is for me.

I am still recovering.  I had surgery three weeks ago, just after my last entry in my journal, and I'm now able to get around on crutches.  Better than sitting in darned wheelchair!

Was in the hospital for three days.  Since getting out, been able to return to work part time.  Don't work as many hours, due to my leg, but I'm working.

If there's one thing I've learned from this experience, it's patience.  Believe me, I am NOT a very patient person!! LOLOL

I did put some weight back on from being grounded, but not as much as I thought I would; shouldn't have worried.  I've been watching my carbs, my calories; have an occasional treat now and then.  (Hey, I'm not perfect.)  It's been helping.  I've been trying to do some light calasthenics (spelling??); do you know how hard it is to do with a busted leg?? Not easy, trust me.

I've been spending a lot of time on the computer when not at work:  that, or reading, or even sleeping.  Hey, I'm recovering; I deserve to get all the rest I can possibly get, rest that I didn't get in the hospital.  Whoever said you get rest in a hospital has obviously never spent much time in one; they're friggin' liars!! LOLOL

Some days I haven't gotten up until 11 or even noon--but not todaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay....LOL  Muse woke me up slap early, felt I had to do an update in my journal, so y'all can know just how I'm faring.  As you can see, I'm doing pretty well, all things considering, better than I was last time I wrote.

Tomorrow I'm going to a friend's church.  They go to Christ Community Assembly of God; I usually go to Oak Grove Baptist.  I've never been to an Assembly of God church; I won't know what to expect, and to tell you the honest truth, I'm a little scared.  If they're anythin' like some of the stuff I've seen on the religious channels, what with all that slapping people around, knocking them down to the floor, I don't want noooo part of it!!!! LOLOL

My friend works with me.  Her name's Leona.  Leona Lewis.  She's a right religious gal; I'm religious, too, but I'm not that religious.  I cuss sometimes, have an occasional beer, miss church sometimes (I've done a lot of that lately, especially since I'm laid up with my leg).

As I said before, I'm not perfect.  Not claiming to be.  (Got saved when I was thirteen, fell away from it until just recently; I'm discovering the Lord again, and it's been a wonderful journey thus far.)

Guess that accident awakened something new in me.  All of a sudden, I find looking at the Bible or praying to be important facets of my life, as well as going to a Bible-believing church that preaches the Gospels.

Maybe it's because people keep saying "He's coming soon; be ready!"  I want to make sure I'm ready when Christ does come back; I don't want to be left behind!! Nooo, siree, Bob!!

I just hope Christ comes when I'm awake; I don't want to miss a thing!! LOLOL

Well, my leg is starting to bug me again, so I'm going to take a pain pill, go back to sleep.  I will write in here again, maybe later this week, to tell you about my experiences at an AofG church.  Or about my job; am gearing up for the approaching school session.

I go to work a few hours a week right now; when I'm stronger, I'll be at full speed (or hope to be, falling over that kid kind of set me back).  Take care and may God bless you!

~Marlayne G. :)

P.S.:  Mebbe I shouldn't have put that stupid animated smiley face on here; it pointed out my error!  I put July 13 instead of the twelth; and it was like it was pointing it out at me.  ARGGH!!!  LOLOL

~M.
