DEMOCRAT 1st? REPUBLICAN 1st? AMERICAN FIRST!
I’m a Jew, and as a Jew apparently I’m genetically programmed to be a Democrat because, after all, both sets of grandparents and my parents were Democrats so why shouldn’t I be a Democrat?
After all, Jews have been Democrats since the formation of American unions and the early days of Franklyn Delano Roosevelt, so why wouldn’t I, as a Jew, be a Democrat, too?
Why? Why?
I voted for Al Gore and I didn’t even like Al Gore – as a matter of fact, whether or not I liked the Democratic nominee never
mattered – because being a Democrat I always voted as a
Democrat.
Then came 9/11 and when I saw President Bush standing on that
pile of rubble with his arm about that dirty, grizzled fireman I
decided that I liked...
Heaven forbid, on that day I decided that I like President Bush
and soon thereafter I registered as an Independent. But in finding
that as an Independent I was unable to vote as I could if a
registered member of either party, I then became a...
Ridiculed and all but ostracized by my family I became...
God forbid! Me, a Jew, became a Republican!
And, okay, so you might say I’ve got my head so far up my ass
that I have fecal asphyxiation.
And, okay, I may get nasty comments in rebuttal; which, by the
way, I will not respond to.
And, yeah, some telephone conversations are listened to without
a court order. So what! What have you – the one person in
500,000 that might have the FBI or CIA listening to – have to
say that can compare to our national security?
And, yeah, okay. I’ve heard it a thousand times: Bush went to war for oil and Bush went to war because Saddam Hussein threatened to to kill his father and Bush went to war illegally and, “BLAH!
BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!”
However...
Since 9/11 we have not been attacked on American soil, have
we?
And what if President Bush and congress did not order the attack?
What if – and I really think he did – Saddam Hussein did possess weapons of mass destruction capable of hitting Israel, or was able to develop the capability of hitting America?
How high do you think Bush’s rating approval would be now if we had been hit again?
Kind of a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t" scenario, I’d
say.
Obama! Obama! Obama!
Lots and lots of grand talk but where is and what is his plan?
“Change?”
On this day: July 3. 2008, I’m about two months from my seventy-fourth birthday and I’ve listened to lots of political... excuse me,
I’ve listened to lots of political bull-shit and every four years someone wanting to be elected president promises “change!” Promises, “we will no longer conduct business as business had been conducted!” Promises, “We will no longer conduct business as usual!”
Bull-shit!
If Obama wants to unite the country, how’s about starting with, “African Americans”?
African-Americans?
Come on! I’m a Jew! I am not an Israel American! I’m an
American! You might be Polish or Italian or Lithuanian or Chinese or or Korean or any of the hundreds of nationalities, or races or
religions that make up America and we’re “Americans”!
So, Mister Obama, how’s about a bit of unity here and let’s all be “Americans”!
Democrat 1st? Republican 1st?
I am an American first, and until the Democratic party can come
up with someone I can believe in – and at this time I do believe
John McCain is the president that can keep my America safe – I
will remain a Republican.
