Thursday, August 21, 2008 (VERY early in the A.M.; can't sleep!! Too excited! LOL), somewhere in north Louisiana, headed south~

Dear Journal~

A very sleepy, disoriented Ronee' here.  LOL  Can't sleep; too keyed up about Saturday and Sunday, I guess.  Am as nervous (excited) as a cat in a room full of dogs!! LOL  Well, not nervous, per se, but I am plenty enough excited!!  LOL

I am feeling much better than I was on Saturday or Sunday.  I am just about over my sinus infection.  Not quite there yet, but I am at least headed in the right direction! Still have that darn leftover cough, though, grrrr!!!  I just hope it's gone BY Saturday, or I'll be picked off!!  (Note to self: make sure I suck on plenty of cough drops, so I don't choke while onstage!! LOL)

As I write this, I find we are in north Lousiana, just outside of Shreikport, headed south.  (I just asked maman where we wre; this is what she told me.)  It's very dark outside (duh; it's NIGHT!! LOL), and everyone but maman and I are asleep.  Daddy's driving; he's up too.  Everyone else, however, is asleep:  they are snoring, purring softly, like baby kittens.  It's adoRAble!

Makes me think of my own kitty back home.  Hmm.  Wonder what my furry baby is doing right now?? Probably wondering where everyone went, missing me, no doubt.  I miss her too; I wish I could have snuck her along!  LOL

Have been hearing who's going to be performing at LeCajun this coming weekend:  Walter Mouton.  Wayne Toups.  Jackie Caillier.  Hunter Hayes.  Sheryl Cormier.  Helene Boudreaux.  Belton Richard.  Hmm.  Some great Cajun names there; I'm going to be in good company!  Now I'm REALLY nervous!! LOL (NOT really, but you know what I mean!! LOL  I'm more excited than nervous; the nerves will probably show up come Saturday!!)

You can probably tell from these late night jottings just how disjointed, disoriented my thoughts are.  Maybe it's due to lack of sleep, or maybe it's medicine head--or a combination of both.  LOL  When I have nights like this, where I can't sleep, I usually write.  Some of my weirdest writings come into fruition at night; I look back at some of what I have written in the past, and I'm like, "WHOA!! Did I really write THAT???"  LOL

I just hope we get into Louisiana safely, in one piece.  I mean, I don't want to get derailroaded by a wreck or a he**lacious traffic snarl up!!  I would NOT be amused!!  ("Sorry, I can't go onstage:  traffic held me up.") LOL  GRRRR!!

After I get back from Louisiana, I will go to my camp.  Hard to believe that I've been going to Camp SteppingStone for ten years now.  I started going there at the age of six; I'm now nearing the age of sixteen.  I've met some wonderful friends there; most of us still keep in touch today.  Wonder if I'll see any of the gang there; hopefully I'll see Nicole there.  It's been a while since we've  hooked up; I miss her.

Last I heard, Nicole was having more surgery.  She's had a rough couple of years.  I thought I was bad; pffft!!  Compared to her, I have it soffffffffffffffffffffffffft!!!! LOL  I thank God for my spate of (reasonably) good health; I pray it continues!!  I give Him all the credit, all the glory, for the blessings/grace He's bestowed on me!

Speaking of surgery, my sister Jodie is going to have surgery in September.  Her feet are drawing inwards; her toes are now pointing towards the floor.  Really painful looking (and I'm sure painful for her).  I pray and hope all goes well for her!!  I know when she goes into the hospital, she'll be scared; I'll have to make sure to stay with her, comfort her!

Johnathon is performing with me on Saturday; we'll make a duet of sweet Cajun music.  He has been practicing his accordion playing; he sounds really good.  Or if he's feeling weakened, he'll just open his mouth, and let the words fly.  He absolutely loves to sing!!

Well, I'm gettin' stupid, so I'm going to cut on out of here.  I am going to go to sleep; the thought of crawlin' in my nice, roomy bed-on-the-road is soundin' better'n'better!  I will write again soon, probably after we get back home.  Until then, this is your pal, Ronee', signin' over and out! C-ya!  I wouldn't want to be  ya!! LOL
